GFX Video Writer or alternatives.

Sometime ago I recieved an email to get GFX Video Writer at a discount and would like to know if it is very good.
Or are there better alternatives? I currently use MS Powerpoint and Camastudio to make my videos.

Try Jing to it's pretty cheap and you can do almost the same things like with Camtasia!

I have looked at Jing at it doesn't seem to do anymore than Camastudio. GFX Video Writer seems to combine some Powerpoint and Camastudio functionality.

I have GFX writer. If your looking to make high quality videos its not great but if you just want a simple tool to get something out there it works ok.

If you go to ebay you can pick up a new copy of Sony Vegas Pro 11 HD for £20.

It's a bit more of a learning curve but if you stick with it you can make highly professional videos.

Thanks for the advice. I actually have Vegas Movie Studio HD Platinum 10 that I hardly ever use. For me I just want to make simple videos at the moment that's why I use Powerpoint and Camastudio recorder.

Bought the software this morning and have been messing around with it for a few hours and I have to say that I'm dissapointed with it.

Not only does it constantly crash but the program is very poor with to many problems to list. For example when you add a coloured background and then copy and paste text it shows the white background from the text document and for the hell of it I just can't get the background to show up correctly, etc etc. I am running windows 7 and have rebooted my pc a good few times to try to correct any problems but with no luck.

When I install a program I just want it to work and for me GFX Video writer doesn't. Maybe I'm not giving it enough time but for now Powerpoint and Camstudio works just fine.

I bought it a while back and the quality of the videos are "okay". My biggest problem was the sound quality when adding your voice on to the slides. It had a ton of static in the background. I've tried everything (new microphone, adjusting sound, adjusting sound settings, sound card updates, etc.)... and nothing fixed it.

My advice would be if you are looking for some quick slideshow videos to put out there with some background music tracks, then GFX may be a good idea. If you are looking for more professional solutions, I recommend looking at more alternatives.
