Hello, My name is Abby and I have just joined the forum to learn more really about website promotion.

I have just made my first wordpress blog and want to promote it.
What is the best way?

    A couple of free ways you can use.

    1) Contribute to forums in your niche and place a link to your site in your signature.
    2) Approach other blogs in your niche and offer to guest blog for their site in exchange for a link back to your blog on each post you do for them.
    3) Comment on blogs in your niche (DO NOT SPAM- Add value)
    4) Contribute to groups on facebook, google, yahoo etc and provide value.
    5) Syndicate your content.

    When it comes to promotion of your blog... there is literally hundreds of ways to do that... from free techniques to paid ones.... concentrate on SEO, do forum marketing (link in your sig and providing useful and interesting posts), think about paid traffic too, and not just PPC but also solo ads and similar promotions... and stick around this forum, you will learn a lot here

      I find that blog commenting and forum posting on relevant high traffic sites works really well. Always try to add value to the conversation and not only will you get the backlinks but also people will be interested in what you have to say on your blog too.

    First off welcome.

    As mentioned above, there are a ton of different ways to promote your blog. What topic is your blog dedicated to?

    A little bit depends on where you target market is "hanging out" online and making yourself visible there. Once you figure this out, pick 1 or 2 strategies at most and focus on that until you start seeing some results.

    A lot of people have mentioned ways to advertise your website. Using the search function of the forum, look for each of those ideas, and learn the deeper concepts. Once you find one that seems attainable to you, put it into action for a week or two.

    As you advertise your site, you will find it becomes easier. This is when you return, find a new way to advertise your website, and dig for the deeper concepts. Now you have two ways to advertise your site.

    After a few months, you'll have first hand knowledge of multiple ways to advertise your website, and you will have a system in place bringing traffic to your site.

    Once you start making money with your website, you can start to outsource the work through the Warriors For Hire, Gig Sites, or Freelance sites. This will free up time to expand your business instead of advertising it.
