How do you add your PayPal buy now button to WSO?

10 replies
Not sure if this is the right forum to post this in so I apologize if it is in the wrong place.

I have a web site I want to sell in the insurance niche, as PLR. I was putting an offer together in the web sites for sale forum (please don't laugh at my sales attempt) and came to the point where I needed to add the buy now button, but can't figure out how to do it.:confused:

Can anyone please help me with this?:confused:

I am so confused:

      This will link the image so that when a customer clicks your buy now button, they'll go to the Paypal payment page. Just remove the space I put between the first [ and the U.

      [ URL="PAYPAL LINK HERE"]IMAGE URL HERE[/URL]

        Yes, I should have clarified this Tim.

        Looks like Tim has it figured out now...but for those who do not:
        The "Paypal Link here" is the EMAIL Link - that's the one you want to use,
        not the website code from Paypal.

        And for the Image URL, you can use the Paypal image, or ANY other image you wish to you use...just insert the full image URL where shown in the example.

    I am having trouble with that code. I am not sure which part of the code I got from PayPal is the PayPal link. I have managed to get the image URL and pasted that in my listing fairly easy. But when it comes to stripping out the PayPal link I am not sure which part that would be with all the input type, value and form data that is in the code I get.

    Here is my code from PayPal:
    HTML Code:
    <form action="https://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr" method="post">
    <input type="hidden" name="cmd" value="_s-xclick">
    <input type="hidden" name="hosted_button_id" value="JFVWBVUXT4L34">
    <input type="image" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif" border="0" name="submit" alt="PayPal - The safer, easier way to pay online!">
    <img alt="" border="0" src="https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/scr/pixel.gif" width="1" height="1">
    </form>

    After you create your button, you should come to a screen that has a box with a "Website" and "E-Mail" tab.

    Your image URL (as in the above code you provided) is in the "Website" tab information. In order to get the direct link (that will correlate with your image ... that is, the link you want people to go to when they click on your "buy now" button) will be found in the e-mail tab.

    wow, just reading about this is giving me a headache lol.

    Is there a website/book that teaches you more about this and other little things similar to this? Or a good place to find someone to get work like this done? Thanks.

      It would have been nice if I had found one, but I don't know of any instructions for this. I think I finally got it down though. Thanks to the people that responded to my query. Warriors are wonderful people.

      HTML code will NOT work on the forum. The forum uses BB Code.

      Like LegitIncomes says above, you need the E-MAIL link you get when you create a Buy Now button. You'll then have to enter it into the WSO post manually. The easiest way I know of is like this.

      1. Get the button image from the HTML code supplied by PayPal. In your case it's https://www.paypalobjects.com/en_US/i/btn/btn_buynowCC_LG.gif . Copy this to you computer's clipboard.
      2. Click on the "Insert Image" button on the toolbar and paste in the code. It will look like this:
      3. When the image is displayed, highlight it, and click on the "Insert Link" button on the toolbar. Copy the e-mail link from PayPal and paste it into the pop-up box. Your Buy Now button should now work (but test it anyway )
