Newbie Question - Simplest way to sell ebook?

Hi,

You need to redirect your buyer after succesful payment. They will register to your membership site and download the ebook.

Simple is .htaccess method in your host panel. Use it to protect ebook download folder.
Or more advanced is install a shoppingcart that manages the payments and downloads.

ISBN numbers can be bought in batches of 10 (and I think singularly too) If you plan on creating more books then get the batch of 10 because its more cost effective.
However you do not need an ISBN number to sell you ebook on clickbank and paydotcom. This has the added advantage of allowing you to use hte power of affiliate marketing and personally I think to sell a niche ebook this may be your best option so that you don't have to do all th eselling yourself.
If you're going to use affiliates they'll need tools to promote your book, things like banner ads and maybe an email template which they can mail to their list.
The bottom line is that to market anything successfully you need exposure to as many eyeballs as possible.
All depends on your busget.
As for delivery of your ebook, that can be done a number of ways.

A link redirection once it's been paid for is the easiest way.

If you have an optin you can have a popup optin on the sales page i think. The only thing i'd say is if you want people to optin what are they opting into? YOu need to give em something free, a report or something valuable in exchange for their email, preferably something connected with your ebook that way if they don't buy the ebook at leas they'll be on your least as interested and you can get em some other time while still senidng them valuable info periodically.

I highly recommend you to set up the opt in to generate your list to sell back-end products. You can offer a free report to encourage sign ups, just my 2 cents

Make sure you have 2 optins. One before they purchase your product,
and the other after purchasing, just before they get to the download link.
Make sure you remove those in your prospect list to your customer list
once they have purchased the ebook. this can be done easily in Aweber.
