Kindle Publisher Help!!

Hi there.

So i am new to kindle publishing. I feel i am doing well. I have 3 books online. Not made any sales yet. I am learning allot about the kindle.

Anyway going though a WSO i have about the kindle it says, The "Also brought this" Is a sales boost and a backlink to that book that is on it.

Well i have a look at all 3 of my books and none of them have this feature. I have tried a KDP select promo on 1 book for 24 hours and got 300 downloads, but the "Also brought this" has not shown up. This was about 3 days ago. This is really random too me. Have i missed something? What have i done?

I am racking my brains here. Would love some help.

      Sure.

      The below book is a book i am testing with and the book i did the KDP promo with. Ok turns out i cant add links i need 15 posts. The name of the book is
      Uncover The Real Secrets Of Coffee - Version 1
      if you amazon search it, it should come up. The author is Cameron F

      By the way this is not a niche i am going for this is simply for testing purpose's.

        The kindle system sometimes takes longer than we humans would like to crank into gear. I would say that 300 downloads with Kindle Select would normally kick you onto the "also buy" system. Wait a few more days.

        But it is still more complicated than that.

        1. There are different levels of "also buy". I'm not sure if this has happened to other authors but this is what has happened to one of my books.

        After one month of good sales it started getting "Also buy" from very closely related books.
        Now after 7 months I am getting "Also buys" from all sorts of related books. This is giving me increased sales. So time and sales will get you on the system.

        2. IMHO, paid for downloads still carry far more weight with the "also buy" system than free downloads.

        Hi, I have just purchased 2 WSO's last week on writing books for the Kindle - and hope to pick my niche, and get at least 1 book up by 1/20 - that's my goal. But I am so nervous. You've got 3 up... so you took the leap. What would you say helped you to do that? I need a push!!

          Hi there. What WSO's did you buy??

          I would say just action is the biggest thing. Just knowing that it isn't going to be handed too you so if you want something done you have to do it. Also close your emails when you are writing they are a huge distraction.

          I can get a good ebook written in about 2-3 hours of writing and formatting.

    Like Kenj pointed out, there are quite a few factors that come into play with related books.

    I check out the book, looks interesting although it is in a very unique niche. At the same time, one of last years best sellers was about brewing beer.

    I think your book would make a great coffee table book (no pun intended), it would be nice to have at hand while drinking coffee. Just a thought.

      You say none of your books have actually sold yet, so the 'Also Bought This' feature won't show up under your books will it? None of your books have sales credited to them, so no-one has bought another book in addition to yours.

    Ok that's fantastic thanks to everyone that replayed I have got a few ideas now to try and get those first few sales because to me they are the hardest for a author/ pen name just starting out.
