HELP - Installed New WP Template And Lost My Tagline

Hi there guys,

I recently installed a new WP template (specifically Lifestyle theme by Studiopress) to my blog.

When I do a search on Google for my site, instead of displaying the tagline underneath the website name, it says "banner40542".. and then the first sentences of the sales page. Which looks crap.

I've tried going into Settings > General, but the problem still persists no matter what I seem to do.

Does anyone out there know how I could get it back?

Many thanks,

- Richi

your tag line should not have been there. Get a plugin like Yoast SEO and define the meta description to be what you want.

Site link? You might want to look in the coding area: Appearance >> Editor.

Google does what it does - and in this case it grabbed the alt tag from the big graphic at the top of the page and ignored your description, probably because you wrapped the image in an H1 and an anchor tag.

You screamed at Google that "banner40542 Revitol Scar Cream" (the image alt tag) is the most important content on the page. You need to get some basic onpage SEO help.

BTW, You are not using your All In One SEO fields properly (I agree with frenchsquared - switch to Yoast). Other pages are not showing titles or descriptions.

I use Planitum Seo Pack for years and never get the problem like what you got when changing my theme. And according to my experience, Planitum Seo Pack is better than All In One SEO.

    Thanks.
