5 Ways To Build Your List Fast...

If your site dosn't get the traffic you want to build a list of good size then you need to go were the traffic is...

Here are 5 quick ways you can build your list:

1. Participate in Free Giveaway sites Related to your niche

2. Seek out your competitors and offer an email swap

3. Give your competitors a freebie you created to give to their lists

4. Advertise on blogs related to your niche

5. Write more articles directing traffic to your landing pages

Of course you will only get the results if you put in the work involved. The more you do these things the more your lists will grow.

Okay, here's one more...

Announce a referral contest to your list and whom ever refers the most sign ups will win one of your premium courses. If you don't have a premium course then purchase one in your market that everyone recognizes and wishes they had enough money to buy it.

PS. Building a list isn't that hard. Heck I haven't even mentioned PPC or CPA networks or co-reg yet...

PPS. What if you did all of these things twice a month?

Listen to this man if you want a good sized list fast!

"Announce a referral contest to your list and whom ever refers the most sign ups will win one of your premium courses. If you don't have a premium course then purchase one in your market that everyone recognizes and wishes they had enough money to buy it."

That's a good one. I've never heard of that.

Good point, Christian. Strategy #1 is useful only in the IM niche. Still, strategies 2-5 work in any niche.

I've seen them here and there. They don't look worthwhile though since there aren't enough big JV partners involved.

Don't make excuses.... If you cannot find any in your niche then create one yourself and get other marketers in your niche involved.

Come on guys, think a little - and do some work. If it's not in your market then go do it and get others involved. Chances are if you're the first one to present the idea your competitors will eat it up and get involved, you just have to ask enough of them.

Thanks for the idea on #3!

I've been looking for ways to grow my list at a much faster rate.

With about 60 videos on youtube directing traffic to my landing page I've been able to get about 20-25 subscribers/day...

It would be great to see that jump a huge amount from a mailing list trade!

Do you know of (or sell) any products on how to set up and run a giveaway?

    Mike,

I've often wondered about those free giveaway sites/events...I know the few times I've been on the receiving end of the giveaways, there are just so freebies offered that I get overwhelmed and only end up downloading a couple. And I wonder if the participants who are 4 or 5 pages back end up getting sign-ups at all.

Is there a strategy for choosing giveaways or getting a good position?

      Here are a few strategies:

      1. Create a product ahead of time and reserve it ONLY for giveaway events. Set it all up and ready to go, complete with listing information. Setup your squeeze page, download page and about 25 email messages in your autoresponder set 3 - 5 days apart from each other.

      2. Join as many TARGETED giveaways as you can.

      3. Have a professional image of your product. I spend $127 on just the cover image but it's very good and gets a lot of attention.

      4. Make sure you're information is killer and something everyone in your niche is looking for. Make it better than a paid product. Basically, after you have finished creating it if you are tempted to sell it instead of wanting to give it away then you have successfully created a good product.

      5. People who are 4 or 5 pages back do get signups. Not as many of course so it's important to get on the first few pages. This means you have to actively promote the giveaway to increase your position. The first few giveaways will be slow going (usually) but as you get subscribers and can promote other giveaways directly to your growing list then you will see your page position increase in other giveaways you participate in.

      6. If there is an upgrade option where you pay $47 or so to get into first page rotation then I recommend you test that option as well.

      7. Increase your chances of getting more signups by having more than one product in each giveaway as a separate listing.

      8. Take the time to create good products for giveaways and DO NOT be tempted to just throw in a resell or PLR rights product (That's lame) and you won't get the same reputation with your subscribers as you would if you created it yourself.

Remember, the relationship with each subscriber starts the second they visit your website. If you succeeded in getting their information then you have peaked their interest enough to see what you have to offer. Don't drop the ball by delivering sub-par information... give them something they can't get anywhere else.

I could go on about this subject but I think that's enough for now - Hope this helps...

      Mike Hill

PS. Maybe I shouldn't share this last one... a what the hell...

After the giveaway event is over... contact the person who put the giveaway together and see if you can pay him $297 (or more) to send out 3 emails over the course of 7 days to that entire list of people who just signed up at the giveaway. In your emails you need to create an irresistible offer... so crazy... maybe border line lunacy... and offer it for free but only until Sunday night at 8:24pm (The time can be anything really but be very, very specific and clear).

Now before anyone says "I don't have any money to do that" think about this... That money you INVEST is only a one-time payment, but the subscribers you can convert with your offer to get on your list should make you much more than that over the lifetime of those subscribers.

(Good lord... I've just written a third of a WSO in this response )

    Mike,

This is awesome info--thanks! The giveaway area has been one of the few remaining IM mysteries for me but now I feel like I get it. And should be doing it!

No worries about using PLR, I'm a copywriter so that would totally be a crime against nature to me.

    Great post Mike,

Another strategy I read and thought was pretty powerful was to do a search on 10 frequently asked questions in the niche (yahoo answers could help for this)

Then create 10 Videos, one for each question, and give a detailed answer to solve the question, with a link to your autoresponder to have them sign-up to receive more quality information.

Heh there are no competitors, just partners who don't know it yet! Or so I've heard. Not a bad attitude to keep in mind if you want to work with others to build a list.

If you are targeting a non IM niche join forums related to your niche and put your freebie in your sig file.

Sig files do work. Look how many there are on this forum for IM stuff.

Google "YourNiche, forum" to find them.

But you do have to contribute honestly in the forum to get your link cliked on.

I am able to find the top 20 forums for any niche based on Alexa rank and how many links go to this forum. Great link juice for your site as well.

If you want a list of them in your niche leave a post with your niche and I will get back to you.

I haven't used this software but I found one that may work for this (I'm going to set it up) I'll let you know if it will work for this.

The software is called Site Sponsor by Webgenie. Site Sponsor

      It's free...
