Hey guys

I have Awstats as part of my hosting deal and have found the info really good for testing what works and what doesn't. One of the best bits of info is their 'unique visitors' stats. I have been assuming their info is correct.

I recently signed up with Aweber for autoresponder and they also tell me how many uniques I am getting every day. However the two do not show similar results. While Awstats say I am getting 160 unique visits a day Aweber tell me it's only 60!

Can anyone shed some light on this? I'm a little confused.

Thanks in advance.

Marcus

Could be bots and spiders that account for the difference.

Aweber is pretty legit as far as stats go. Might want to set up something else as a test to see if your hosting company is inflating #'s to make you more happy (keep you around longer)!

In Awstats scroll to the bottom of the page and view the search phrases and it should be closer to Aweber's numbers. The unique hits in Awstats counts the search bots and the image files on the page that's downloaded. I Used a directory submitter once on a brand new site and the unique hits went crazy, but the search terms and HUMAN visitors were nada. In Awstats you can also view the referring searchengines and sites that sent the traffic to your site. You can also use statcounter.com on your site and it should pretty much match Awstats.
