Report Cover and Website Buttons...

I need to make a cover for a report i'm giving away on my opt in page. I also need to make a website call to action button.

I don't mind paying somebody to do for me but I would rather have a go myself.

Can anyone recommend the best way to go about this, or any programs to buy to help me. I am working on a Mac Powerbook G4 so any software has to be compatible with that.

I suppose I'm looking for formatted blank covers or buttons that I can work with.

    Photoshop is the program I always use to do any sort of graphic (and then Fireworks to optimize them for the web). It is very good for that sort of work and there are more tutorials online than on any other program, however it is also very expensive

    If you can't pay, try GIMP instead (though I don't know if GIMP is MAC compatible).

      I use photoshop and coveraction pro. If you are going to be doing a lot of covers and graphics this is the way to go. But if you are going to be doing just one or two, I would just outsource the project to somebody.

      There is a pretty good learning curve when using photoshop. If you are in a hurry I would outsource.

      Check out plusminisites.com they are pretty inexpensive and quick quality work. This is who I have used in a pinch. You can also do a search for ebook cover design and you will find a lot of resources.

        Alfardo, if you have photoshop already, try a product called 1clickcovers - just gooogle it and you will find the page. I bought it last night - it costs 69 bucks - and it is really fantastic. No affiliate here, but I will say it is the best program (actually it is a series of action scripts that work with Photoshop) I have bought in a long time.

        The training that comes with it walks you through it step by step and you can do your cover in all kinds of different styles. Very cool product and really easy to use. And, I am someone who knows virtually nothing about photoshop. Well worth it.

        For the other, check out Call-to-action-buttons | Creationspire. Again, I have nothing to do with them, but seems to be what you are looking for.

        Also, I use this for free buttons: http://cooltext.com/. You can create whatever you want right on line.

    I don't know of any graphic programs that'll be compatible with
    the Apple G4, but whenever you have a change of mind...
    i'm here to create one for you that'll save you a lot of
    your time.
