Connection between Niche & Affiliated products

Dear Warriors

Suppose one selects a niche in say some sports game, say soccer. Can he/she promote affiliated products not relating to soccer or supports. In other words do the affiliated products have to be connected or related with the Niche/Sub-Niche chosen.

    No not at all, but your click rate and conversions I would imagine just drop drastically.

    How do I know this, because all of us who have did adsense for any length of time, know sometimes we get irrelevant content and for a prolonged period of time. During this time our money drops, every single time.

      There is actually nothing that is "required" in terms of what you promote. However, the reason that you pick is a niche is because most of the traffic that will visit your site will be interested in that subject. If you decide to promote a soccer niche and suddenly decide to advertise something like ballroom dancing or magic tricks on the site what do you think that will do to your conversions? The closer you can target your niche (on a site like that) the better your sales will most likely be.

    You SHOULD have products related to your niche. You're better off promoting something that people are already interested in. People may even get offended when you try to push something that is in no way relevant to what they are searching for. It's a lot like spamming

    If your goal is to get targeted traffic that converts into sales (makes you money), the products you're promoting should be related to your niche topic.

    Yeah, I agree with you all. I am interested in one niche. But there are not many related affiliated products. If such is a case, how to monetize the site.

        Use affiliate links. But there are 100's of ways to monetize, its just now I only use affilliate links. I never promote anything I have not seen. I won't mail out for a friends product unless I see it and know it is beneficial.

        On a different note, you can use adsense, adbright, cafepress, I could go on and on all night.

        If I do not monetize with affiliate links. Then I monetize with my own product. Anyone can create a product if they so desire to do so.
