New client does NOT want to make money ....
I had no idea what that really means, so i did some research, and
i don't really know too much more about it.
So in a nutshell, this guy has about a dozen people that work for him,
and they are shooting a series for it, to start showing next year.
He wants to set up a website, generate a ton of traffic.
slap banners up every where, brand the heck out of it.
And he want to do all of it before the show airs.
But he doesn't want to sell anything.
I cannot see this going too well, you can only throw so much money at
something, without seeing a return, before you have to shut it down.
The more i talk to him the more it sounds like a passion project
with no real objective.
But he is prepared to spend gobs of money.
It literally took me 2 hours to convince him to at least
set up a newsletter, with auto responders.
I'm not really comfortable with setting this up without monetizing it.
paraphernalia, phone apps, sales, ect.
but he is dead set against it.
Has anyone dealt with a passion project before?
What did you do? Did you take the money and run?
Did you manage to convince them to make money with it? if so how?
Any thoughts are appreciated.
