Google vs Twitter, It is ON

Google decided to cut twitter off their real time search starting next year as twitter company commented on the new changes that google made few days ago.

Google and Twitter face off over search changes | Dynamic Business

Apparently the changes of google search engine pissed off twitter for trying to force people on G+ and face out social media websites like twitter.

The comment upset Google and announced that google will not re-new the real time search agreement between Google and Twitter.

Twitter update is the fastest among social media. I think the twitter post update too fast may influence the quality of real time searching and that is why they start to cut off real time searching.

It's funny that Twitter respond to that... I mean, if you have your own company and your own service, would you prefer your own service or somebody's else service?

or option 3, use your own service and leverage the service of a titan like Google?

I'm a Google junkie (if you've seen my products and read my posts, you know what I mean) but I'm also a fan of Twitter. I believe both can provide value if used properly.

Google obviously blows Twitter out of the water with its features and exposure. That being said, I don't think Twitter is going to suffer severely from Google's new social network (not nearly as much as Facebook). Twitter is one of those sites has a very specific and loyal user base. From what I've seen, most Google+ users keep their Twitter account because it is still very useful.

Google+ has Twitter like features but actually has a different purpose and function. Not to mention, Google+ will prove to be much, much more profitable for IMers because of the powerful tools it provides.

That's quite heavy of google. But then again, it's common sense that Google will try their best to indirectly try and find a way to increase the current market share of Google+ . Twitter certainly is still the fastest way to find any new information. Facebook won't be affected at all in my opinion.

Twitter actually decided not to renew the agreement last summer. Here's a snippet from Mashable on this tempest:

"We are a bit surprised by Twitter’s comments, because they chose not to renew their agreement with us last summer,” read a post on Google’s Google+ page on Wednesday, which Google confirmed to Mashable was its official statement on the matter. “Since then we have observed their rel=nofollow instructions.”

So this is not a case of Google swinging the hammer. It was already decided back in the summer.

But even so, there's going to be some fireworks between FB, Twitter and G+ over the next year.

    Regards,
    jim
