can anyone recommend a good course or guide to outsourcing?

i have been outsourcing seo for the past 6 months but i'm also interested in outsourcing some other tasks that i'm not great at or don't have time for.

    Why don't you try to check out the Warrior Special Offers section about outsourcing guides? You can pick which outsourcing goldmine you wanna dig in that section, then implement and take action of it.

    So much information on outsourcing within this forum that it's hard to miss. There are many types of outsourcing available that you really have a potpourri of sorts. For starters you can check out the following link to start you on your way. Don't worry about the title oursourcing, just misspelled.

    Browse through fiverr. There are countless services there that are good value for money (be sure to only buy ones that have loads of positive ratings though).

    Other than that just browse through this forum - theres countless amounts of information.

    Sorry but I think these outsourcing guides are a bit of a rip off personally.

    I've run and sold a virtual office business, I started it from home and it grew dramatically in 2.5 years to me having offices and employing staff. (UK)

    My major headache and continues to be with outsourcing is getting good staff. NO guide will ever give you the solution.

    There are many sites out there where you can find outsources, peopleperhour, odesk etc. and it's very hit and miss. I recommend you give everyone a test (I always do this unpaid and if I'm happy with their work will pay them, 9/10 most of them fail the test so I've had to do it this way) and by having a blueprint guide with step my step instructions is useful too. In my experience with outsourcing overseas i.e. India/Asia etc. you need to test very well, a lot of people can say they do the work but the delivery is another matter!

    I wish you the very best of luck, outsourcing is a game of luck, when you do get good staff, motivate them to keep them working for you, trust me it's hard to get staff who can do as good as job if not better than you!

    You also need to be clear about the communication you expect to receive.

    I've run several businesses over the years and for me getting the clients has and is also the easy part, getting good quality staff is always a challenge, even in a financial market like now.

        There are a lot of guides out there offering to tell you everything about outsourcing. What it comes down to is trial and error you will hire someone and he or she will perform OK.
        You may hire someone else and that person may not perform that well.
        It all comes down to experience and keeping an eye on what your outsource es are doing if you give them an inch they may take a mile.
        You notice i use the words may take a mile because not everyone is like that but you as the hirer can't take that chance.

    There is a lot of great outsourcing information available on the web. It's pretty much generic as far as I have read though. Outsourcing is pretty simple and straight forward. There are a lot of places you can get it done. If you're looking for something specific, visit an outsourcing marketplace such as Vworker.com or Odesk.com [there are many others as well - can be found on Google]. If you want general tasks done, Fivver has some really talented people.

    The main thing about outsourcing is that it is only as successful as the person you hire is qualified. Make sure you have a strict screening/interviewing process so that only those who know what they are talking about get through .There is a lot of talent out there, but it's often hard to find when people become lazy with outsourcing online.

    Always keep your specifications as clear as possible so that the chances of things going terribly wrong are minimized. Outsourcing is awesome if you get the hang of it - you can save a lot of time/money by getting just about any task done by somebody else.

    Read "The 4 hour work week" by Timothy Ferris. It basically teaches you how to outsource your whole life... for example you could use virtual assistants from other countries for cheap.

      Its good your new but its clear your attempt here is to boost your forum post I'm sure that people appreciate more than just go buy a book witch actually doesn't get really very specific.

      As already stated the best way is give people a test before hiring best advice they do usually fail and I personally use Odesk but there are also Vworker.com and elance.com and I use often if you need more a website its called similarsites.com and if you plug odesk.com in there for instance it will suggest to you others there are the same or similar.
      They have a great forum on odesk to read before posting and as also suggested there are some good WSOs on here I have bought that helped me.

    But in general, It's really hard to find someone who is going to deliver exactly what you need. You will have to try many people and test them on small projects. Don't expect you find the best person for you tomorrow. So if you want to find some outsourcers I would say, go to sites like odesk.com or google Philippines outsourcers and start hiring the ones that match the best your needs. Never hire them for the full month, if you are not sure if they are the best fit. Begin with one or two weeks and give them testing tasks.

    After some time, you should get at least one that does the work the way you want it.

    As others have mentioned redstanford, there's lots of information available online. And I congratulate your effort to learn more. Learning all you can about outsourcing helps reduce the risks involved. It doesn't have to be a hit-or-miss venture when you know what to do beforehand, and when you're armed with a set of solutions to common problems. That's the value of research, and I'd be glad to help you with that if you like.

    It's all about picking the right people. You want to make sure that whoever you hire is making you more money per hour than you are spending on them!

    If someone costs $5/hour, they better be generating more than 5$/hour !

    Simple concept, but when I think of it like that, it makes everything a lot easier
