Take This Pledge to Help Stop SOPA

My Pledge to Help Stop SOPA

I ask you to join me and take a few pledges. As Internet marketers, we have loads of people that look to us for advice. Give it to them! Tell them to call their Congressmen and Congresswomen. These calls REALLY DO count! Congressmen are afraid of one thing and that is getting fired! They serve short terms and are always campaigning for the next election. Their districts are small, making it easy for people like you to start a grass roots campaign. Start one! Tell your Congressman to stop SOPA or you will stop their political career. Then tell ten friends to do the same.

In the early days of this country, citizens stood on soap boxes to speak their views. I hereby commit myself to use my "Soap Box" to start my own grass roots movement against SOPA.

I pledge to use FaceBook to educate my followers and provoke them to make calls and take similar action.

I pledge to use Twitter to educate my followers and provoke them to make calls and take similar action.

I pledge to use MY MAILING LIST to educate my followers and provoke them to make calls and take similar action.

If you agree with this post and are willing to commit, please post your name and state that you will pledge to do the same.

  • I'm with you all the way Mr. Rose!

SOPA is nothing but bad for those enjoy the freedom of being able to browse, buy, and sell on the Internet. This really isn't about a political party or any type of any persuasion of any sort.

It's a direct attack on freedom and liberty and we can't afford to lose anymore. I'm telling everyone I can.

Time is short. This is coming to a vote on Jan. 24,2012.

Warriors don't sit on this. If you do you might just as well delete everything on this forum created prior to Jan 24 because it will all change. Just set your way of doing business and web sites on fire or the Gov't will for you.

No room for compromise on this one!

even though I'm a Canadian, it's only a matter of time before this happens here. Who knows what Mr. Harper has in store for us...he's already cooking up some nasty treats...served up neo-con style but enough of that...

put me down as one who will pledge to do what she can to spread awareness

      FREEDOM!

SOPA is a threat to everyone involved in IM.

For those who don't understand what it is, it's like a Panda Update... but instead of just targeting article directories, they're out to destroy all sites that even has a hint of copyrighted material. This means article directories, Twitter, Facebook, Youtube, forums like the WF and authority sites referencing other materials will all be shut down with just one letter of complaint (real or fake).

All online businesses will be razed to the ground if that gets green-lighted.

I for one think that it's a terrible proposal and anybody with an ounce of sense will agree. However, I think we have enough evidence at this point to know that sometimes the leaders of the world do not possess even that level of intelligence...

So it all falls down to us common people. I'm personally going to tell everyone I know about this foolishness, and I'm telling you guys this now: If we let this go, the Doomsday Clock will move one minute closer to midnight.

Online piracy is a huge problem. I can sympathize with the government for wanting to take a significant step toward dealing with it. But SOPA, like other recently passed bills, is too big with too much potential for abuse.

Back to the drawing board guys. Come up with something that makes better sense.

I was about to post that

I have emphasized this on twitter and facebook accounts before, starting tomorrow, I will start sending awareness emails. It would be much more effective.

It is now or never for us to take a stand.

The code above for SOPA Blackout, is pretty nice and simple to add to your website.

I'm taking the pledge as well. I've already been putting out posts about it. It's amazing how many people don't even know about it. Hopefully, we can have an impact on things.

Glad to see others are pledging to take action, as well. The clock is ticking. This is not something that should be ignored.

I hope it doesn't pass but no one really seems to care about anything that matters in this damn country anymore. Just when the last time that Kardashian women tweeted or when someone on that Jersey show got drunk and screwed up. The last thing the gov't needs is more power.
