New to IM help a noob out

Started blogging after reading it's a source of income and I'm kind of lost. I've been reading for about 3 days straight and have a jist of key terms. Any sort of information anyone would like to give to a newbie like me?

And yes I'm not one of those people who believe internet marketing is a get rich scheme, I know it takes hard work dedication ect. Anyhow what would be the best way to get traffic for a blogspot starting up directed towards MMO guides? It'd be a huge help if someone can lead me in the right direction.

Sounds like you're on the right track, Jeff.

Focus on producing high quality unique content and show both people and search engines that you are a quality outfit.

Go to the search function and look up some of the big threads here on syndication and you will find a lot of great information from a lot of experienced marketers.

If you site is new, what ever you do, don't start applying massive amounts of off-page SEO.

Google doesn't like this...especially with new sites.

Think slow and steady...give value and you should do well if you stick with it

    Mark

P.S. And definitely get an autoresponder and start building a double opt in list of subscribers...

For paid traffic you can try ppv and for free put your signature link in forums related to your niche. The more you post the more possibility there is for more traffic. You can also post answers on answers.yahoo.com

    Thanks a lot Mark,

I plan to write about as much content as possible for these guides. Since it is a blogspot I was wondering whether my url pertained to any relevance on google and other search engines.

The reason being is that my url pertains nothing to the gaming industry. It's more of an alias and blogspot I made a while back that I just decided to use now. I'll be working on getting an auto responder asap also, I've been reading into that for an hour or two now lol. I'm still learning about SEO and while inexperienced I thought I knew what back links were. I was definitely wrong lol I now know quality backlinks are what counts in the long run.

I'll definitely be reading on the sites major topics. Anyhow I appreciate you taking your time to help me out. I plan to show this forum in time to come anyone even an average Joe like me can earn income online with pure hard work, dedication, and initiative. (That and its pretty addicting. Obtaining new knowledge you know.)

All in all thanks for the information, it's worth more then any amount of money someone could put into my hands.

    Jeff

    Hey Jeff,

The more keyword rich the domain name, the better off you'll be as far as search engine position goes. As soon as you're able, register your own domain name. 1and1.com does domain names for 99 cents and I've never had an issue with them -- it's a very worthwhile investment.

Make sure you share all of your blog posts with your friends through social media like Facebook and Twitter. If you're into shooting videos, make video posts and share them on YouTube, too.

Then, syndicating your blog posts on article directories like ezinearticles.com can help with your search engine position also, but don't place too much emphasis there.

    Good luck.

I think you had a good start Jeff. It's true that it really takes some dedication, motivation and hardwork to your online business, just stick to it. Get rich quick schemes are a complete scam, stay away from them.

Better give your visitors some high quality content that they're looking for (especially articles that are in the problem solving strategy). Market them through social media, social groups and networks, article directories, etc.

Blogging is one of the worst ways to make money online. It's a terrible business model. Yea you can make it work if you work it. (and moving the Free Line is very overrated...I tripled my income when I stopped moving the free line)

    My suggestion to you:

Internet Marketing is can be broken down into two things.

    Traffic and Conversions

The Traffic part is ALWAYS going to change. (I wish someone would have taught me this 5 years ago)

So I would begin, focusing on the conversion, which is really persuasion (copywriting, salesmanship, etc.)

Check out the gary halbert letter, read his how to become an expert in copy in 30 days.

If your gonna blog...do it Matt Furey style...where you tell them what to do and not how to do it.

As far as traffic once your good enough at conversions, just buy the traffic.

    Best,

Jeoffrey, have you thought of having a coach? I would recommend that for newbies. I have several coaches and even though you pay a bit of money, you fast track your way to success. It's invaluable.

Get a coach who has had the experience and has made money online and learn from him/her. There are many coaches around the forum.

One way of getting very interested traffic/targeted buyers is with yahoo answers

Now if you hop into a niche it pretty much should be cos it interests you so therefore you know your stuff

Trust me it all goes hand in hand as thus:
      You know your stuff
So you can write interesting and unique posts
You know issues or problems in this niche
So you also know solutions, have ideas for solutions, or know where to go to for solutions.

Now knowing your stuff will take you a long way with Yahoo answers

Sign up type in whatever your niche is

      say its ''red carpets''

People will have open questions on red carpets

Save that search and let it update you everytime there's a new question

But for this to work you need to know your stuff so that every time you answer a question you are undoubtedly gonna get best answer or most likely to get best answer or at least you did put a great answer.

This will bring in a lot of traffic depending on popularity of the niche and shows you off to be an authority and what makes it worth the while is you are allowed to place links of your sources in the sources box which is where you can place your url of your blog hence get traffic

Hopefully also get a best answer rating and be seen as someone who

Welcome to the Warrior Forum. I'm glad you have a realistic mindset. Now, I have a few pieces of advice. If you're going to be blogging in a hugely popular niche like "make money," you should really do it on your own domain. Blogging comes with a number of advantages, but there are two main points I want to drive home. First, it's crucial you have control over your own content. Free sites are very picky and can remove your stuff at any time. Then, you have to start all over again. That sucks.

Secondly, when you have stuff on your own domain, your sites gain authority as they age. To make it simple, this means that your site will naturally outrank other sites because it has gained crediability in the eyes of the search engines. How awesome is this? Well, you will eventually be able to get high page rank backlinks and the like from places you've never heard of and couldn't have gotten on your own -- just because Google likes you. You will also be able to get traffic just by publishing something on your site and more.

As for your actual question, doing forum posting (making sure to use the signature) and blog commenting are easy ways to get traffic to a blog. You need to make sure your comments and stuff are relevant to the conversation because high-ranking blogs and forums especially are moderated. You can also submit stuff to various article directories and link back to your blog and more.

It's cool that you want to go into the make money niche, but it's a good idea to start out in a niche outside of MMO as well as to have had gone through a successful training program just to make sure you have all the skills down and what not. It will also be a bit easier to pre-sale to people who aren't as skeptical and who don't know what affiliate links and stuff are and what not. I'm not articulating it very well, so I hope you get what I'm saying.

    Good luck,
    Joey

Extremely valuable information. As a retired teacher, I have always advised people not to start out with something that they are just learning. Although going with your passion may not be the most lucrative at first, it is definitely a better way to learn.

Before jumping into something, I always recommend market research -- what kind of buyers, how many, etc. Equally as important is concrete information about the depth of competition you can expect to meet.

Consider using WordPress instead of a free blogging platform.

      Find someone to help you.

Well, there are two paths I guess:

    1. Paid traffic - For the MMO niche, I think you could try demo targeting on Facebook, as this is a good PPC network for such a niche. You can also go the PPV route, but if you are really a beginner and don't have the money to buy traffic, you can get by with free traffic.

    2. Free traffic - Of course you can do SEO (this is a little more complex than the other traffic generation ways and takes effort and time to master). There are some easier free traffic sources, like Youtube or forums. You can register on forums related to MMA and start posting relevant and helpful comments using a signature linking to your blogspot blog. As for Youtube - Just make a search for some videos about MMA that have a lot of views and copycat what they are doing to get that traffic - I'm not talking about stealing or anything like that, just see what keywords they are targeting with their video title, description and tags to get some keyword ideas and strive to provide good value with your video and include a strong call to action, making it clear what the visitors should do next (click on the link in the description )

      Hey Jeff,

I have been studying internet marketing for about a year and am just now breaking ground on my first "serious" projects this month. I just wanted to tell you that out of all the training/ebooks/advice/tools I've purchased over a year 2 things have really been worthwhile purchases. The $37 fee for the Warroom is by far the best money I've spent. There is heaps of information in there that you can always turn to whenever your struggling. The other is market samurai but i wouldn't mess with that until your doing alot of keyword research. Good luck brotha!

    Hi!

You need a reputable mentor that is able to respond to your questions everyday while you are implementing his techniques.

But don't buy anything yet because to discern what is the right mentor for you, you need to look at many WSOs and look at comments and critics from followers (WF users) of a specific program or WSO. If the critics are good than it could be the right program for you. Nothing stops you from looking at the Marketer's WF profile too. Many time a reputable Marketer or mentor on WF have more than one WSO and you can look at all of them to make sure you are dealing with a serious and reputable Internet Marketer.

Some Coaching are very affordable like 37$ but don't go over 497$ for a coaching program.

Don't forget to focus on one program so that you don't become overwhelmed by information overload.

    Good Success!!!

If you are able to, I would definitely invest in a domain name (.net or .com) and some hosting. I buy my domains from namecheap and hosting from hostgator. If you plan on this being a long term deal, and something you want to represent your business you need to get those two pieces set up. Someone mentioned the Challenge and I highly recommend that course. I did it when I first started and it's awesome to keep you on track if you are just getting started. No matter what you do, keep working on building your business. Don't get too caught up in over analyzing everything to the point you never put anything out there. Keep testing, keep learning, keep building.

    Good luck!

Here is the low down. (sorry if did not say that like a gangster LOL)

You need to learn these things,

    Traffic

    Conversions.

    Sales Copy (copywritering)

    Building a list.

These are the 4 pillars of having a successful business online. They are each just as important as the next.

Do one thing and stick to it, focus and take action and then when you make your first 100k write a WSO, and I will be the first to buy it.

Hey Jeff - welcome aboard. Good to see you have your head on right and are not looking to make a million dollars overnight! That's half the battle right there, knowing that you have to work at this game to have any success....

How about contacting the relevant authority sites in your niche and ask them can you write a guest article for their blog. All you ask for in return is a link back to your site

Focus on providing them with high quality content that their readers would find interesting, and therefore, more likely to click on you link and check out your own site. Best of luck with it!!

          way to go jeff.

alright, if u wanna take the blogging route then ill probably be doing a lot of SEO. that take a long time. but can also be very rewarding.

if its seo then ill need to focus on 3 things:

          1. keyword research - se cockpit rocks for that
          2. on page seo - just youtube it ill find vids
          3. drive back links to your blog posts - article marketing robot is great

once you're getting traffic, you can add an opt in form that leads to your capture page, build a relationship with your prospects with an autoreponder like a weber.

you can also sell ad space on your blog if u want.

lots of diff routes u can take. good luck!

    • I second joining the Warrior Forum for $37, great investment. Also, I agree that it's as simple as traffic + conversions, if you get good at conversions you can pay for traffic all day long.

To get "good" at conversions you have to test. You can use Google for this, or other element rotation scripts. Or you could just test different landing pages with redirects.

PPV (Traffic Vance) in the MMO niche works. Hope that helps.

I think this is probably beyond your skill level though. As crazy as it sounds, the best way to really start making money for many newbies is to build an authority site organically and use article marketing...why? It's basic block and tackle. You will learn picking a niche, keyword research, SEO. Once you know that and are making money. You scale.

I think the best way for generating traffic for a blogspot is to share well defined and innovative ideas in that blogspot so that it attracts the attention of the people and you can also earn more money. For a newcomer, the best advice is to not to see the less amount of pay at the beginning but to work hard so that the pay increases.
