Clickbank Checks "Void After 90 Days"... since WHICH DATE on the check?

Hello Warriors, it's been a while...

This morning an old Clickbank check just popped up in my doorstep.
I know Clickbank checks void after 90 days... but 90 days SINCE WHEN?

I mean, there are TWO dates mentioned in the check:

- At the top right corner, it said "10/24/2011" under the check number.
- At the bottom left corner, it said "10/12/2011" after my Clickbank ID.

If it is the second (10/12/2011), then the check is already void and I had to ask for a re-issue.

But if it is the first (10/24/2011), then I don't know what to do, because here
we have to wait about 20 days since the check was submitted to clear the fund.
I'm afraid if the check voids when it is in the middle of clearance then it will be "gone".
Is it better if I go and clear it or I just ask them for a re-issue (there's a $20 charge)?

Thanks for your insights,
Ray

Since probably the beginning of time.

Most checks are only valid for up to 180 days period.

If you are within the window, your bank will know. And you could send their team a support question too.

Either way, I'd deposit the current, and if it doesn't go through, then pay the $20 for a new check.

Yeah I let one expire (silly I know!) I didn't realize they are only valid for a few months.

    Since when? No idea :S

That's been the case since at least my first sales on CB, and those were more than 10 years ago.

    This is not new.

Yep - I still have a Clickbank check from 2002 which has that written on it. I didn't cash this particular one for nostalgia reasons, and a reminder that if I'm to lazy to deposit my checks on time, then I don deserve the money! (I was younger and a little more reckless)

However, if you pass 60 days it is not the end of the world. Send them back and they promptly replace them.

Errr guys, I think I didn't phrase the question right...

What I meant is... the "90 days" is counted from the date of... what?
    - the top right corner date, or
    - the bottom left corner date?

    Sorry for the confusion... :p

    Ray,

That would be the date of issue of the check. IIRC, one date is the payment ending period or date of commission calculation, and the other is the date of issue. The one on the upper right should be the date of issue, and thus the start of the 90 days.

    Dee,

    Good reminder.

That said, it appears he meant "since which date on the check," rather than the usual "Since when is this the case?" It seems a few of us didn't read his post as carefully as we should have before answering. Oooops.
