What are the best ways to build a list quickly?

Hi Warriors,

I wanted to get some brainstorming going here, and maybe we can all get some new ideas.

What are the best ways you've found to quickly build your list?

My favorites are:

1. Participating in giveaways
2. Running giveaways
3. Launching butterfly marketing-type sites (the viral factor for these is great)
4. Launching viral ad-exchange sites

I've also been thinking that nickel sales and $7 100% commission products might be good techniques, but I've never tried either.

If you have a product you are selling...offer a bonus on the thank you page if they opt in.

Versus being one of the idiots that require you to opt in to get something you already paid for.

  Writing articles and submitting to major article directories is proven and highly effective.
  
  PPC advertising is actually the fastest way to build a large list, although you should use other methods first to make sure your conversion rates are acceptable.

Are you guys kidding me, how about building a list and then having it continue to grow on a daily basis while you do maintenance work.

Sure quick list, subscribe to a service that will give you a bunch, or use a system that will provide you with daily qualified leads. Has it been working your way?

At it's core, the best way to build a list is to offer something people are interested in enough to give you their contact information. This could be a pdf, ebook, download, free cd, report, sample....

The rest is marketing and you should use every available channel to let people know about what you are offering.

"Best" will be determined by a number of factors. What is "best" for you may not be "best" for someone else.

Frank Kern, for example, may have access to resources that my Mother-In-Law wont' have.

That being said, my own perspective is that you should use every resource you possible can from article marketing, to ppc, to organic seo, to ezine ads, JV's, list swaps, etc...

And ALWAYS track your results so that you know where your results are coming from.

Yeah, giving stuff away free is a great way to get people to signup for your list, as long as whatever you're giving away is worth having and targeted!

For example, we're giving away a free Facebook Gift app script at one of the sites I own that sells Facebook app scripts... this gets tons of people to the site, familiarizes them with our brand, gives them something to work with that will remind them of our company as they set it up and use it, can make them money, and best of all, if they like it, THEY GIVE ME MONEY FOR MORE

Become a master of traffic generation.

Example 5,000 monthly visitors to your squeeze page...

50% signup = 2,500 subscribers per month.

= 30K new subscribers at end of 12 months.

  Hasn't been a very effective method for me just from my experience. The most responsive subscribers are the ones that I generated myself because they joined for a specific purpose, ie for an e-course, information report as opposed to contacting them cold.
  
  Giveaways are good for building a list quickly but I find that slows wins the race.

Create a simple, yet useful 7-page report and drive traffic with Adwords. If your niche is big (fitness, make money online etc), then you can just use content advertising and pay pennies per click. If you bid for a huge number of keywords you can get a list of thousands of people in just a few days.

  I use alot of methods... Recently I have been using twitter and its dont quite wel for me. I actually added over 200 people in a day using this method. I made a post about it, but no comments yet...
