Any experienced Flippa'ers to answer a few Q's?

OK, I know there's no such word as Flippa'ers, but it was quicker to type than "users of Flippa".

Anyway, have my first listing going on right now, and there's a few things I'm curious about.

I may be going mad, but it seems like the number of listing views goes down sometimes, is that normal?

And how exactly do Flippa arrive at the ave. revenue per month figure?
My site made $1100 last year, which to me is around $90 ave, but Flippa make it $50 ave?? The only way I can see it is that they take the top monthly figure off, is that how it works?

And "Design is not claime to be unique" was the setting I chose because it's just uses a free WP theme. But I've noticed others stating "Design is unique" when they've got a standard theme on too. So what exactly does that bit refer to?

Last, but not least, there are apparently some potential copies of the site, but when I click the link it just goes to a search page.
Very curious as to how that works??

I've realised that my first site isn't going to sell, but I think I could really get to like playing around on Flippa.
Then when I'm an expert I can answer questions like all you helpful people!

According to my knowledge and experience on Flippa the things you can't control are, Page Rank, Alexa Rank,Possible Copies etc....

The revenue is calculated like this total revenue divided by number of months.... Unique design websites pay around a 100$ more for a site of worth around 1000$ otherwise its fine.....

The traffic on the auction is good on the saturday and sundays.....

Possible copies are bad if you are not earning anything from the site and want to sale that....

I hope it answers all of ur questions.....

    Regards

The average revenue is actually an average of the last three months of claimed revenue.

    I've never seen that happen.

Don't know how they arrive at that number. Were you claiming any expenses for the site ... in other words, is your gross income higher than net income?

And "Design is not claime to be unique" was the setting I chose because it's just uses a free WP theme. But I've noticed others stating "Design is unique" when they've got a standard theme on too. So what exactly does that bit refer to?

Unless the design is actually unique, you should not claim it to be unique. If you do some customizations of the theme you use, you can claim it to be unique.

Last, but not least, there are apparently some potential copies of the site, but when I click the link it just goes to a search page.

It should go to Copyscape, which tells you what other sites have that content on them.

To your first question: If you only state 2 months of revenue for an Adsense/Affiliate site, Flippa will take an average revenue of the 2 months and the other months where you didn´t make any money, or where you didn´t state that you generated revenue. Now, if you website is 6 months old by the day you sell, you only state 2 months revenue; Flippa takes an average revenue per month divided by your entire revenue of 6 months.

Content claimed unique is that you have written the content specifically for that site; not copied, etc.

It mostly happens that Flippa will find copies of your site, even if you didn´t publish any content on another site. Sometimes people come to your site, copy the content and might use it for comments, etc.

With regards to unique content, it says to only choose that if you have a design you wont use again. So even if you have a custom design if you plan to use it again for another site you cant claim it as unique. At least according to Flippa's description.

Ah, but you're probably not obsessing over your listing, refreshing 4 times an hour like I am

Bingo! Listed another today, and this time the average came out a bit high, but based over just three months both work out!

      Thanks, Jillian
