Ok guys. I have been really, really confused - probably more than most of the newbies here. The probable reason for this could have been the fact that I am DISORIENTED! I do not even understand terminologies which members have used to advise me or recommend me paths which I should choose to make money, other than SEO and Amazon/AdSense for which I am working under somebody.

In fact, more than anything else, the only thing I have eventually come to terms with is the fact that I need somebody to personally coach me, if there are modules of that sort available.

Well, what are my strengths? Writing! That is probably my biggest strength. However, what is it I wish to eventually learn - off page SEO which, the readings across this forum tell me, includes backlinking, article submission etc. Having worked on it before, I now wish to master the same. .

Off course, I am willing to pay for the coaching. I can always look into that. But I must say - I may be one of the total duds one may have to deal with because I now realise I should have asked for a mentor much earlier.

Meanwhile, I am going to sign up tomorrow for an ad in the Warriors for Hire section as an article writer - for I firmly believe that it the only way I can manage to make atleast some money to get the ball rolling.

So if needs work done in intermediate level backlink building and various other forms of article marketing etc and numerous other facets that make up off page SEO is willing to help me, please do let me know.

    • I was going to say, take a deep breath. But yer that's probably even better.

      It's OK you'll get there.
  • think that's what i need is a coach, a mentor, someone to guide me along as i'm making progress.

will check about john taylor's program.

    thanks,
    john b
  • @all - a big thanks for the replies... lets hope I go somewhere from here..
  • My friend - I think you should sign up for the Chris Farrell Membership

When I was a brand new noob - he was very helpful and got me to understand everything clearly.
  • Good plan, mentors are vital to your success.

  • Everyone needs a Coach.. Even Michael Jordan needed a coach.. Much success to you!
  • Okay here it goes. letting my website out before its open. Looking for a partner to write for me, In return, I give part of the affiliate commissions up. No I won't let it out. P.m. me if interested. Im going broke on writers, videoagraphers and such. I need help just like you do. Trust me this concept is one which hasn't been done with the scale Im doing it in. You need to talk to me to see what I'm saying.
  • I so agree that everyone needs a coach or mentor. Make sure you (or anyone reading this thread) you find someone who fills your needs.. gives you exactly the amount of one-to-one mentoring you need; shows you everything they do; walks the walk, not just talks the talk.

    Best to you!
  • I can definitely understand. Ed Dale's Challenge is great for getting to know some basics, but it's just meant for earning your first dollar online, mainly through a little affiliate marketing and Adsense. It's not a replacement for a full training program or a coach.

Before you hire a coach or sign up for any training, think about the business model that resonates most with you and your skills. If you love to write, then becoming a PLR writer can be one business. Or, if you have one niche you particularly enjoy, you could build up a larger blog and just keep adding content and marketing through other content.

Another great option for writers is to create ebooks in different topics. You just need someone to show you the marketing ropes.

There are plenty of business ideas here on the forum, so browse through. If something sounds way too complicated, then look for something else that sounds more doable. At that point you can start looking for a coach. There's no point jumping into hiring someone only to find that you don't like their way of doing business.

    Good luck!
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Check my sig...starts at only $37...

  • A good coach is worth every penny, and sometimes they don't cost much at all! Join the war room and read all you can regarding where you feel you are getting stuck.
Also, remember write great content!!!! That is more than 1/2 the battle (depending on your niche).
  • I would trust John as stated above. Do not know the gentleman personally but from what I have read on here of him for the last couple of years .. real deal.

The rest that are giving you advice ... make sure they are showing concrete proof of their own success before you jump.

If a coach/mentor is not producing students who are making real money ... do you really just want to learn terminologies?
    • [ 1 ] Thanks
  • Start slow my dude. You probably dont even need a mentor. Know that advertising brings you the fastest results, and if you can at least break even, you're in the game. So keep running the campaign.

Free marketing works. Pick out 8 techniques to do on a daily basis, and keep repeating them. Soon you will see your traffic increase. Once your traffic increases... you need to find a way to monetize it. This could be from your own product, an affiliate product, or Google Adsense. Don't give up. You can do it on your own.
    • [1] reply
    • Sure, you can do it yourself. Hell, I'm far from smart and I did it all myself. Just took me 10 years longer than it needed to. If you're on the slow track, then just go do it yourself. But why? So you can tell your friends you didn't need any help and made your millions all by yourself? Dude, that's not worth it. Continue to search for your proper mentor and also locate a local mastermind group to keep you on track. This might sound old school, but based on your comments in this writeup, I would suggest you start at more of a core-roots level and go buy "today" and devour a copy of the world famous book, Think and Grow Rich. The process is all in there.
  • See my signature down.. in one of the threads in this forum, there was a hundred dollar challenge. The thread heading was "if you have hundred dollar to invest what will you do". you can search the thread "Hundred dollar challenge" and you can go through the content. In that, I have replied and have offered that I will invest $100 on people who sign up with me. I need 100 people to work along with me so I am willing to pay $1 if you sign up. Click the signature and join me. I will make you earn $100 per day as early as possible.

    • Nothing against your pitch bro but why would a newbie want to learn SEO?

What about the basics of getting started. Like Learning how to build the one important thing that will actually give them a business; squeeze page. Learning how to use a HTML editor, understanding how an auto-responder works, etc.

Without a list or customer base you have no business. When I started out I understood this. So my main aim was to learn how to get in touch with my market segment.

OP, I think you need to take things one step at a time. Don't rush in. Everything thing you want to know is here within this fantastic forum. Just be patient whilst looking for the right information and your objectives should be meet.

  • JKFlipFlop,

It's good that you're looking for a coach. I've found that having a coach is a very good investment - yet something that many people don't realize the value of. Search for "coaching" and "warrior forum" in google or here in the Warrior Forum. There are many programs. Do your proper research and get a good one. Get one with experience and who has made money and whose methods and goals can fit in with yours. I'm very sure you'll not regret that decision.

    All the best!

  • I'd only use a coach to truly master my field of expertise and would never pay for information that is publicly available on internet in the matter of few searchers and clicks. If you're very lazy of course there's tons of salesmen on this forum to take your hard earned money. And being realistic - they claim to be very successful, however you don't see many doing ANYTHING besides promoting their offers. This thread just felt too sweeet, so I had to intervene with some salt.

    • A good coach should focus on one thing with you. I always asked my coaches what they are good at and I followed their instructions.

While there are bad coaches I'm sure, there are good ones who genuinely want to share with you and see you a success. Make sure to check their reputation and ask others about them.
  • I can see you don't have enough posts to I/M me but visit my blog below, i'm just through my first year online, and it's now going good, i've just finished my first product on how to start online, it's released in a couple of weeks, i will happily send you a review copy if that helps, leave the message on my contacts page, it's really crappy when you start out, you defo need a mentor.

    Hope to talk soon

  • Some Great advice, here, I think getting started in the Internet Marketing world is a lot like moving to a big city, from a smaller city, you can feel a little unsure of yourself, but there is also that little bit of excitement that is there.

It can be sometimes frustrating, you don't know the streets, you get lost trying to find your way to a good place to eat, you end up going down a wrong way street and have to do the worlds quickest and safest u-turn.

Then you have a flat tire and have to find a place where they can help you get it fixed, or you need to get brakes, and you end up at a place where they try to sell you additional parts you don't need.

It can be a real frustrating experience at first, but once you learn where all the streets are and once you learn the places you can trust for good car work, and you apply all these Big city, Analogies, to Internet Marketing, I think you can see that likely the most profitable thing to do is to find a tall building and have a look at the city and see where everything is, take some notes, think about it for a while, then find a good place where they serve some good food, and some great coffee.

Have a slice, have a drink, and watch what everyone is doing, but don't get too tied down to that, think more about what everyone is not doing also.

Often is is not about what everyone is doing but about what they are not doing because they never took the time to see the forest and the trees at the same time like you did, then Magic can happen.

When you get to that point and your ready to create something out of thin air and you are able to invest in a hosting account, $8 to $12 bucks a month to get started more once your successful, you can take it from there, but that is probably several weeks of time already, there are many that never make it past the part where they keep getting lost in the big city because they do not know where the streets run and they keep getting flat tires, because they do not read the street signs.

They keep getting ripped off because they do not find out who they can trust and who they cannot trust, they end up being late everywhere they go in life because they do not take the time to breath and to learn sometimes its not about what you know but about what you do not know.

After you get to that point in your Internet Journey, and you want to find a good coach or mentor, John would be a good one, though from his picture you might think he was a bit crotchety, )

From my perspective you could do a lot worse in choosing someone to help you out, there is an incredible amount of information to learn, and some of that information is useless, while others are critical, learning the difference between those two things, as they say is priceless.

One word of advice be careful who you trust, there are a lot of great people here that will literally give you the shirt off their backs, and there are sadly (just like the real world some that will do you dirty) so just be careful, watch for post count, but that's not the only indication, a high post count means nothing if that person is just running around all day long making quick little comments that mean nothing and hold little value. The biggest indication of trust is often in the users profile, look for websites they own, look for blog posts, look for information in their profile, that can tell you a lot about who someone really is in this forum and in life. I would say good luck, but really this is not about luck, it is about work, that is the number one thing, so many people have flat tires around here because they buy into this idea that they do not have to do anything that they can make money in their sleep,

Or they can make money without having to do anything...

Biggest flat tire in the Internet Marketing world, is this idea that you can get rich by doing nothing.

The most important part of this Analogy, is that when you move to a new city, the first thing you need is a place to live, once you find that place, you need to get the utilities turned on, Gas, lights, water, ect, I think so many people forget to turn on the lights.
  • I'm also interested in having a mentor... not that has to talk to me on a daily basis, just someone I can ask now and then that can give me some straight up answers... ANy one interested?
  • If you need coaching to SEo and linkbuilding i have lots of experience and i would be glad to share some info with you...
  • Well I'm pretty comfortable with SEO, it's more about what ways to go, how to set up texts, collectiong emails and stuff like that.
  • Absolutely, positively run your ad! And while you're waiting, looking for a mentor/coach, google "off-page SEO" and hit amazon for Brendon Burchard's The Millionaire Messenger (currently, the
paperback is cheaper than the Kindle version - go figure!).

Choosing a coach is a larger hit on your pocketbook than choosing a series of books a WSOs, What's is "right" for me might not be "right" for you, and vice versa. So maybe one of the other books on amazon might be a better choice for you; read ALL the revirews, and pay particular attention to the overall ratings, publication date, and whatever you can find out about the author.

There's also a wealth of free e-books, videos, etc., though the War Room and other forums!

I haven't bought nearly as many WSOs as I have traditional hardcover and paperback books, but they have been a good investment. But you really can't afford to be indiscriminate and throw money around cavalierly with either.

As far as the "gurus" and wannabees: the acid test is whether they deliver sound teaching in their free webinars as opposed to little more than an hour or two hour sales pitch. I'm only making two hundred dollars a day, so it'll be awhile before I can afford their high-end products or continuity memberships.

Get on their lists! This has proven to be the best way to see whether they're the real deal or not!
  • I agree you need a reputable mentor that is able to respond to your questions everyday while you are implementing his techniques.

But don't buy anything yet because to discern what is the right mentor for you, you need to look at many WSOs and look at comments and critics from followers (WF users) of a specific program or WSO. If the critics are good than it could be the right program for you. Nothing stops you from looking at the Marketer's WF profile too. Many time a reputable Marketer or mentor on WF have more than one WSO and you can look at all of them to make sure you are dealing with a serious and reputable Internet Marketer.

Some Coaching are very affordable like 37$ or 37$ a month but don't go over 497$ for a coaching program.

Don't forget to focus on one program so that you don't become overwhelmed by information overload.

    Regards

    David

    • I am assuming you are referring to my post regarding William coaching...He basically teaches how to make money in the IM niche. I've really enjoyed his coaching, I suggest taking a look at it if your interested in hiring a coach in the New Year..
  • I did Tristan Bull's coaching some time ago. Made a huge difference in how I do business and easily paid for itself many times over.

I recently got an offer to be in a class of 40 students, taught by Frank Kern. I was really tempted to buy too but I couldn't bring myself to justify the $13,000 fee. Maybe next time around, but for now I still have plenty I can learn on my own.

  • Of course you need a coach/mentor. Anyone who is serious about success realizes this.

I invested in a personal mentor early on (only been at this one year), and it catapulted me into the fast lane.

I do, however, recommend taking responsibility for learning the terms you refer to being ignorant of. Spend a portion of your day developing the skill of becoming independently resourceful.

There are lots of free tutorial videos on YouTube and lessons on Google...

Remember, throwing money at a "coaching program" does not guarantee results. Coaches/Mentors are compensated for their time, but YOU are responsible for following the advice and taking action on what you learn. You are responsible for your own success.

Having said that, having the right business model and successful coach helps an awful lot!

    Have a great weekend.

  • There are so many schools of thought out there and methods of learning. The important thing is to pick a topic and take action. Do you need to learn everything or just things like off-page marketing?

I would suggest that you work on learning everything you can and most of that can be done here on the WF. Spend a few hours reading the forum and finding things on the subject. Also, get a mentor if you need one.
  • Good Morning! Your recently sent me a PM about writing, and I am very interested. Since I am under a certain amount of posts, I am unable to reply. Please PM me your email address. Thanks and good day!
  • What 2 things do Michael Jordan, Steve Young, Arod, and Tiger Woods have in common?

    1. they were very successful in their profession!
    2. They all had coaches!!

Coaches/Mentors help us improve ourselves. We set goals. We put a plan in place. Lets face it most of us can not do those things without a coach/mentor(or spouse) helping us along.

I don't think any of them bought and WSO on being a super athlete either!!
  • I do not know why the moderators deleted another thread I had started.

An apology to all the mods if I have flouted any rules - I must have done so unknowingly.

Anyway, please do update me who can, regarding their mentorship programs.
