Writing with no money to spend

Hello fellow warriors I am trying to start back freelance writing. Everybody has told me to use the warrior for hire forum but I dont have to 20 dollars to start a thread. Does anybody know of a good way to start freelance writing if you have no money to spend.

Maybe you could make up a free blog or squidoo lens with some examples of your work and offer to write articles on there, then make a link to it in your signature?

Or offer to write a few articles for free in return for some reviews which would then boost your credibility.

I know that there are certain sites you can join which allow you to bid on writing jobs but I don't have any experience of these so don't know whether they cost anything.

What about advertising writing gigs on Fiverr?

Make use of your signature...Post something about your services there. If you have a website, post a link if not, ask people to PM you or something. Then become really active on the WF; don't spam just give considered replies to posts. It exposes your signature. Hope that helps.

Get on Textbroker and do some assignments. Take the money and buy a WFH thread. It was the best investment I made in my writing business. I got most of my private clients with mine.

Personally, I would go over to Craigslist under Gigs, then writing. There are tons of jobs posting for writing and you can this remotely.

Be ready to present a resume or at least some of your writing works.

    I hope this helps

Please don't take this personally, but I highly recommend you put a little more effort into your posts if you plan to pull writing clients through a forum signature. As a writer, everything you post in this forum (or anywhere online) reflects on your business and weighs in on a split second decision someone makes to click your link and possibly hire you.

That doesn't mean every post needs to be a winded rant or that grammar should be flawless, by any means, but it does mean watching closely for mispells (people will probably understand the occasional slip in a forum post) and using commas and apostrophes where appropriate.

If you're just looking to scratch out filler work at $5 an article, this might not be a huge issue, but if you want to be taken seriously as a writer and command higher prices, it's definitely something to consider.

You really don't want to come across as someone who takes words lightly, if you know what I mean.

Again, I'm not trying to take a hostile jab at you here - just something you should really consider.

      Good luck!

I'd say take advantage of Fiverr.com and its popularity. Put up a gig content writing to people. To get some clients and some positive feedback. try to give something extra to each new customer. Something that will set you apart from other providers.

While thats going, as other have suggested, make use of your signature here and link it to a free blogger blog where you offer your writing services.

You will be surprised, to know how many people re actually making a living this way. Of course its not as easy as it is to write about it, but no pain no gain!

    Good luck.

Fiverr or iWriter would work. You could write 5 or 6 articles on there and use the money to buy a thread.

If you are a good writer, word will spread quickly on Fiverr. I hired a writer about 10 days ago, she was great. She did 10 perfect articles for me. I left her great feedback and now she has tons of orders! Now you have to wait 7 days to get your articles because she's really popular. When I bought her gig, she was brand new and only had a few feedbacks.

Just make sure you put a realistic time for delivery because you don't know how many orders you'll get each day.

If you are sure of your ability, try constantcontent.com. You will get more for the pieces you sell - but you have to sell them, so you will have to also be good at targeting what people are most likely looking for.

Well most free ways of advertisement just give you a great edge. That´s pretty much the honest truth.

If I´d be in your position, I´d consider borrowing some money to promote my skills and projects on some of the forums.

Pretty much everything that produces results costs money.
