Where To Sell A Domain Other Than Flippa

Im wanting to sell a domain name of mine which has a pretty good PR and I dont want to sell it on flippa, purely because of the large fees flippa charges (ive tried unsucessfully to sell things there before).

I was wondering if anyone had any good experiences with other websites or services and could recommend one?

Cheers

-Andrei

That's right. You can sell it right here on Warrior Forum:

    Complete Web Sites For Sale!

And then of course there is always eBay, but you might not get top dollar

From what I have seen Flippa in expensive but websites go for top dollar there.

Flippa isn't really a great resource for selling domain names - it's great for flipping sites.

For domain names, try SEDO, AfterNIC or GoDaddy Auctions.

Sedo.com (set a BIN buy to sell faster)
    Godaddy auctions
    Afternic.com
Namepros.com (but won't get much - they are resellers, mostly)
DP (cheapo marketplace - won't get much)
    Ebay (won't get much)

I have used ebay, flippa, and even the warrior forum before.

There are lots of ways. I would do it yourself, or if you think the site is worth more than 10k then use a broker, that will increase your revenue and you will just pay him a commision.

I've use primarily Sedo to sell domains in the past - I suggest trying right here on the WF too though! As others on the thread suggested.

        Only other thing im wondering...

        where on the warrior forum?

Can I sell in the complete websites for sale area? If anyone wants the site they can have it, but i'd be more inclined to think they would want just the domain.

Or otherwise i'd have to sell it in the classifieds area im thinking.

Someone had asked about selling domains in my WSO thread and I responded with the following tips:

    - List them on Afternic.com and Sedo.com, the two major domain marketplaces. Those listings permeate through many top registrars such as GoDaddy.
    - Additionally, you can get a GoDaddy Auctions account and list domains on auction there.
    - The best forums to hit in general for domain selling are DNForum, NamePros, DigitalPoint, WebhostingTalk, AcornDomains, WarriorForum and V7N.
    - If you focus on a particular niche, see if there are webmaster/affiliate forums in that industry. Example: PokerAffiliateListings Forum has a marketplace for poker domains.
    - Indicate the domain is for sale in its whois information (add it to what's already there) assuming you don't use whois privacy.
    - If not using the domain, use a "for sale" page with a form where visitors can submit an offer. Many possible buyers, especially end-users, will visit the domain as a means of checking if it's available.
    - If focusing on a particular niche, network in communities within that niche and have your domains for sale as an afterthought (the equivalent of participating with relevant posts in a forum and advertising in your sig)

There are other means of selling domains but those would be the most recommended means for most domains. Flippa is popular for selling websites but not so much for selling domains without websites.
