Should I get a 2nd domain?

Hey,

I've got a domain(penny-stock-fortunes-review.com) which to me is not very marketable and now I'm bemoaning the - s. I want people to be able to type in the url and go to it, and I think pre-selling customers will be harder with dashes.

1- Are two domains good or bad for SEO? Do domains even matter that much for SEO?

2- How do you go about adding a 2nd domain?

3- Do you think I should even bother to get a 2nd one?

Personally, I have never went to my address bar, and typed domains with dash in the name one by one. In my personal capacity, I think the domain you have is no good.

You can use it for SEO, or leads site, but I wouldnt be using it to give to clients, print in business card or so on.

When you are choosing a domain name, best to make it:
    1. Easy to pronounce
    2. A .com preferably
    3. Short and simple (PennyWiseReport.com , PennySiteReviews.com etc)

On adding a second site, I believe you are asking about buying a new domain right?Well, if thats the case, its as easy as visiting your fave registrar and choosing a new one. In any case, if thats not what you have in mind- well, I am sorry :-)

    Hope it helps.

I believe you can do what is called "domain forwarding" so that you can buy the new domain and then just forward it to your site. As far as I know there is no penalty from Google for domain forwarding. Redirects are another thing and some redirects will result in penalty. That is what I have read.

I agree that domain forwarding would work for you here. I also have not heard on any penalty from Google for domain forwarding.

I do not like typing hypens. I don't know how forwarding effects your seo. But read this article, sounds feasible. Interesting SEO Discovery – Forwarding Domains Can Drive Page One Rankings | Morgan Linton

Thanks guys---Forwarding is what I'm looking for.

I agree hyphens are no good. I started out hoping for quick money way back in September and then slowly built a real website.

How much do domains play in SEO anyway? How much do back links? Or is most of it based on activity?

      Hard to tell these days.

      Thanks again,

Another good question is that is the domain you have in mind available? You may want to check if it is and do some testing to get some ideas and so forth.
