Anyone Had Their Own Offline Seminar?

Hey Warriors.

I'm planning to have a seminar for local businesses about online marketing.

I would like to video it and maybe sell the video or give it away.

Anyone who had their own seminar before?

What preparation should I need to take?

Any other advice?

Thanks!

    Hey
I have had now over 6 offline seminars. If you want to film it and sell it later, the best thing you can do is to get somebody who knows what they're doing to film the whole thing, and the camera needs to be awesome (HD). Make sure you communicate to the cameraguy before what are the important parts to film (whether its you or presentation materials or what).

I have received the best feedback when Ive done stuff live. Like helped participants' live with their problems. Or set up a membership site along with a affiliate program in 30 minutes right in front of their eyes.

The most important thing is to make them do stuff!

What are the legal requirements for filming a commercial and the release forms you need, if any, from those being filmed? Are there any requirements?

I used my own staff for filming. As for the camera I was using Canon Vixia HG21 (pure HD, 24Mbit, amazing quality).

You dont need release forms when its you being filmed. If you need to film the crowd as well, make the release form part of the check-in for the event.

There are a ton of release forms you can copy online, such as Video Release Form or Stay out of trouble: Know when to use a Video Release Form

Same idea, different type of event...

If you can swing it, use two cameras from different angles. Two reasons:

        > It gives you a variety of shots when you edit the finished product together.

        > It gives you a safety net if one of the cameras fails or loses the recording.

Another tip - use a lapel mike or even one of those headset deals the pop stars are using now. Much better sound than most cameras are capable of.
