3 realistic goals that you can accomplish every day

I remember in 1998 people saying it's "too late" to get into Internet Marketing. The field is saturated... So and So has 1,000,000 people on their email list and nobody else will be able to compete.

People are still saying these things today... But in fact, if you set a goal every day, you can build your empire slowly but surely

1. Come up with 1 new subject for your blog a week.
a. write 1 250 word article a day (for your website)
b. write 2 750 word articles a week (for your website)
c. create inbound links between those articles each week

Within a year you will have 52 complete subjects that you can link followers to..... This works great when people ask a question and you can link directly to your series.

2. Get 20 Twitter followers a day or 100 a week
I know it seems like a hassle and you might think "Twitter followers mean nothing"... But let me tell you... If you want credibility in your niche you can't be sitting around with 10 followers...

When you can tell people you have 10,000 followers they'll want to know what they are missing out on.

Plus.... Every time you create a new article, post it on your twitter... You will be amazed that people actually will read those articles, share them, and comment on your pages

3. Get to know Google+ inside and out
Comment in as many circles as you can and try to get a following as fast as you can... Google+ results are topping search engines in many categories.

You want to make sure you are the top of your niche

4. (I know I said three but this is obvious) Get 100 people to subscribe to your list a week.... It doesn't matter if you have to pay your competitors to place ads on their email list...

If you don't have a list you don't have a business (hyperbole, sort of)

    Great advice.

    It's never too late to get started (so to speak) because every day or every week there are newcomers making big money.

    What you're saying is to work consistently and sustain the habit of getting yourself out there. 100% agreed.

    You said 1998 was the first time you heard people say it's too late to get on board internet marketing. For me it was circa 2001 / 2002!

    And I bet people still say the same at this point in time and 5 - 10 years down the road, people will still keep saying that.

    We humans tend to come up with negative excuses to persuade our lazy selves out of putting in the hard work necessary to achieve any level of success. Has always been this way.

    Nice post. I know you say #4 should be obvious, but I would move that up to #1 anyway. An email list is the most important asset you can have in IM. I went way to long in IM without keying on that one thing and it hurt me a lot overall.

    Everything I do anymore is going to key on building that opt in list.

    Very good advice. There have been whole books written about the concept of persistent, consistent action being one of the secrets to success.

    What most people do not realize is that it is better to do some things on a regular consistent basis then to do nothing and then to do a whole lot all at once.

    Also, if a newbie, for instance gets overwhelmed with the list of suggestions, they could start with just one of those things. Something they can do consistently until it becomes so second nature, that then adding another thing will seem easy to them.

    It is absolutely possible for someone to start from no where and build an IM business from scratch with very little or no knowledge or experience if they are willing to learn and do some consistent action and keep at it for weeks or months until they are where they want to be without losing focus.

      This is my first reply on the forum, I joined today, and I'm believing that I am not 14 years too late! The simplicity and practicality of your post is what grabbed my attention. My roadblock will not be content, rather the nuts and bolts of creating the website, links, etc. because I am not computer savvy, could you give me some practical tips on that subject?

    That's good. I would add creating articles within a single topic and then creating a PDF report out of 4-6 articles (combined) to send to subscribers or as an incentive to join your list.

    I do not like Twitter as much and auto-following people. It does not have much value, because if they follow you back, but do not know you, trust you or like you - it's pointless. I am not saying Twitter is not a good business strategy - it might work for some folks - I find it a waste of time :-)
