Hi,

I have joined in Flippa recently, Im selling one website and I have got till BIN bid.. Now time remaining is still 4 hrs.. (now no one can BID, since the system doesnt allow other bid since already one guy given a BIN bid).

Payment mode chosen: EScrow Only (no paypal nothing) inorder to avoid risk myself!

I have contacted my BIN bidder via PM, he said that "he will pay on Jan 23rd"
and I didnt accept his bid yet!

so now I have 3 queries:

a) what should I reply him now? (Is that possible to ask him to pay him immediately since its a Escrow (even if I do not accept him ) ) ???

b) what if I accept him and he dont pay later? Time is just 4 hrs remaining! Does Flippa give us another chance freely to post in their system if anything happens wrong from BUYER side?? (I mean if he dont pay)

c) What if I Reject him after 4 hrs? (Does Flippa allow me a chance to put back in their listings freely?)

I will be really glad if you would suggest me with your brief explanations.. Im really new in FLippa, please help me out!

Thnx,

    Thnx,
    I have sold a few websites on Flippa and this is my 2 cents:
    (a,b) Don't accept his bid. If he can't pay now then he will more than likely get cold feet and not pay on the 23rd.
    (b,c) If none of the bids do not meet the reserve price then you will be able to relist the auction for $9.

    Hope that helps.

      Michael is pretty right....

      One more quick tip.... Try contacting the last bidder on auction (if his price suits you)and ask him if he is interested to purchase......
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5449763].message }}
      • Thnq vm for your replies...

        I already asked him whether hez interested to buy my website or not, he said hez "interested"..

        2 DOUBTS:

        a) can he able to pay even if I dnt "accept" him?? orelse shud I "accept" him inorder to pay by him..?

        b) What if I Reject him after 4 hrs? (Does Flippa allow me a chance to put back in their listings freely?)

        pls can anyone clear me above?

    I would reject the bid. That's too long to wait for payment and he's just holding your auction up. There's a high chance that he won't pay, since he obviously doesn't have the money now.

    If you have a non-paying bidder, use the dispute link in your account to notify Flippa.

        You can only file a dispute when someone has won the auction and hasn't paid. They have 3 days to pay. To make life simple, I would simply reject that bid, since he says he's not paying for 4 days.

      Not true. Their support is based in Australia time and this auction will long be over before you get a reply from them.

      • Thank you vm for clearing my queries!

        and last 2 doubts:

        a )My time is Running out (Just 45 mins left now) , I didnt "accept" or "Reject" him yet, since the conversation was going on between me and my buyer
        So, then Flippa relist again?

        b) Assume now I "Reject" him, how many hours does Flippa provide me? Is it just remaining "45 mins" or the "number of hours left when last BIN bid was made ie., 4 hrs"??

        Sorry for troubling you asking many doubts, BUT i really have no option except asking here.. and Support too not answering me quickly and I dnt have time to wait for their reply..

        Hope you udnerstand me..

        Waiting for your reply!

    Yes, Flippa will let you relist for free if the buyer doesn't pay.

    If the auction ends without a winner, you can relist it for half price, not free. You only get free if the buyer wins it and doesn't pay. But you should get going and either accept or reject that bid.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5450721].message }}

    • Thnq so much!

      In prev post, you said "Reject It", BUt I feel it would be better to accept his Bid and can get some more free time (if he fails to pay) and moreover I dnt have time to reject his Bid and wait for other Bidders..

      So, Im thinking to "accept" him... I guess, Im doing corrrect..

      and Any Idea, how many hrs does Flippa provides if it relists my flippa post , if my buyer fails to pay..??

        It's your auction ... but do something one way or the other. As for your last question, don't know. They just return your credits so you can list it again.

          Suzzane, You're really very much helpful for me at the peak time , you've answered all of my queries very clearly and patiently (no matters whether they're gud or bad)

          and at the end, I accepted his Bid! Lets see, how the game goes!

  • Its saying as "You've got 3 days to act on it before it's automatically accepted."

    So, even if I dont accept his BID, the system will accept it, but after 3 days...

    Once anyone made a BID on any flippa post, can they reject again by themselves later..?

    Regardless of what you do the bid will be accepted so you may as well accept it and try to get money from him. I would defo contact bidder number 2 as his bid was only $30 below the BIN so he may be willing to step in if the winner doesnt step up. Would be worthwhile doing this moreso than relisting it again.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5451069].message }}
  • After when I've accpted the BID, I asked for Immediate payment! and in 24 hrs he replied me saying that "he has paid the amount"

    How will I know that he has paid..?

    So now, should I ask for his Godaddy username and email id?

    and I didnt like Flippa Support..

    How did he pay? First, you must verify that he did pay. If he paid via escrow, login and verify it. Don't transfer anything until you figure that out.

    • Hey thnx again for ur quick reply!

      Actually I didnt registered yet with Escrow.. Till now I didnt clicked "Start Escrow" link, i didnt given any details of "inspection period", escrow email address (shud I register first in escrow.com?? )

      In short, how can I check? (sorry if its any stupid question )

    Either one of you can start escrow. If he didn't, then he didn't really pay. If he did, they should have sent you a link to join in.

    Normally when someone has been paid for something, they know they've been paid. If you don't know that you've been paid, you haven't been paid.

    Start the escrow and see what happens. I don't think you're going to get any money from this guy, but we'll see.

    • OK Im gonna click "Start Escrow" ,

      a) BTW what is "Inspection period" and how many days shud I keep?
      b) shud I register first in escrow.com in order to enter Escrow email address there??
      c) In a post I said that I will cover "Escrow Fee", so shall I chose option "I'll pay the escrow fee" (if so, will system ask for Immediate payment..?)

    Inspection period is the period of time that the buyer has to inspect the site before releasing escrow funds. I make this a small period of time. The buyer should have already inspected the site before he bought it, IMHO.

    Yes, register at escrow.com or you can use another escrow service like safefunds.com, which is cheaper. You don't pay until the escrow goes through, so if he doesn't pay, you don't have to pay escrow fees.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5456579].message }}
  • Actually Im new to this Escrow, U have told me 2 escrow services.. which one is better? and does my buyer and me should use same escrow service?

      buyer and seller have to use same escrow. Only one signs up and starts the escrow. They're both good. Safefunds is cheaper.

    I can't give you advice for payment in India. Use the escrow support for that and they will tell you what to do.

  • Already I have an escrow of some few dollars, then for selecting an above options inorder to get money into my Bank accounts, do I need to bear extra charges (say some $40)??

    The charges should be listed on the escrow site. It is a percentage of the transaction rather than a set fee.

  • I have mailed to Escrow support, but unfortunately sat and sun is a holiday for them, not sure when they gonna reply me..

    Im not understanding which option should I choose from above, and its costing me so much (nearly $40 for crediting amount into my bank account) and why this escrow fee again ?

    So now Im thinking do I need to just pay only escrow fee or BOTH (escrow fee + transaction fee)

      They don't work on the weekend, so you'll have to wait for a response. I have no idea of how to accept money in India. The escrow fee should be listed somewhere on the escrow site.

      When you list on Flippa, you pay $19 listing fee. You will also pay a "success fee" when it is sold. If you use escrow, you'll pay the escrow fee as well.

      Most people who sell on Flippa use Paypal for small sales. If that's not an option in India, as I said ... I don't know what is. I live in the US.
      {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5463015].message }}
  • ya I too can use Paypal, BUT i didnt used it in order to avoid risk..

    When I get logged in "Escrow", I could able to see "Flippa.com sale for http://mydomainname.com/" under "Transaction Title" , BUT unfortunately my Buyer unable to see that title in his "escrow" account.. I really didnt understood why the hell this title was not there in his account..

    I asked him to share his screen thrugh skype, I was surprised that no transaction in his escrow account..

    So atlast my Buyer decided to pay via "Western Union", I felt this option is better for receiving money, since there will not be any "charge-back" issues..

    For future auctions, I would make it easy on yourself and the buyer to just use Paypal for small transactions. I've accepted up to $2,500 for a payment for a site on Flippa. Not everyone is going to cheat you out of the money. You just have to be aware that it could happen.
    {{ DiscussionBoard.errors[5463460].message }}
    • You're Right!

      If my buyer would have good feedback, then I would have np even if he would pay me via paypal.. since in my case, the buyer is new and no feedback, I was unable to accept him via paypal, BUT i felt now my buyer doesnt seems to look like a 'cheater'...

      and Suzzane im extremely thankful to you for helping me out when I was with full load of doubts..

      Have a gud day
