It's a great place to get targeted traffic if you could just crack the code for making your post stick??

I also get a lot of (((Sorry, Unable to process request at this time -- error 999. )) when I'm trying to post..

Errrrrr..

Yahoo answers is a great place for targeted traffic like you said, but they will easily ban you for spamming reason, it's hard to stick with them (from my experience). i joined there & post only 3 or 4 answers, next day i got message that i was banned, don't know what's the reason. i didn't even promote any affiliate links even as sig file.

Yahoo answers rules. Shhhhh. Also, if you don't want to get banned... try to link to content sites more than directly to your offer/purchase pages, unless the question directly calls for it... like a blog you run with links to your landing pages. I post the same link as a source in every question I answer 20-30+ per day sometimes, but the topics are also very related to the questions I answer...

I also use only one account per site I promote, generally, and stick to answering specific types of questions for each account.

Another good thing you can do:

Make multiple accounts and game the system. I am very careful doing this though, I'm not sure how easy it is to get caught.... I have only had one account banned there, so I don't have much experience with their banning policy.

    Here's how I do it:

    1. create one account and get it to level 2 so you can ask questions.

    2. ask a very targeted question. be sure to include lots of juicy keywords in it

    3. have another account ready and connect through a different IP and answer your very specific question with a very specific link.

    4. Watch the traffic flow...

You need to be careful how you word things too of course, they can be very picky as I understand.

This means they have banned your ip...And not only that they take into account your motherboard number too so changing your machine would work.

Thanks for the list. I've used Yahoo! Answers with some success; looking forward to checking out some of the other sites on your list.

Yeah just post your links in their resource box so it won't be flagged.

I hate Yahoo answers! Got banned after my first response. A several paragraph (and high quality!) response with a link to my site in the resources. Link was relavent as the response was based on my niche.

Haven't tried again as it completely cheesed me off. All the other responses were two liners and blatently promotional. I gave detailed response which took me about half an hour to put together and I got banned.

Anyway, never again. I don't understand what Yahoo expect. Great content that they can monetise for nothing in return? And the links are no follow!

Ten minutes effort on many other sites leads to traffic and PR 7 backlink. How can Yahoo get away with it?

      Have to agree with you.

I was a fan - but not anymore. I added significant original content to their system.

and made sure everything was highly relevant.

Got Banned again after 8 long months and many 'best' Answers.

What a waste of effort. Never again - they suck.

Great resources you have pulled up here, thanks! I prefer Answerbag. They are not as strict compared with Yahoo Answers and you get the same results as the former.

I had a competitor I assume that's who it was report me 3 different times, but I disputed them all and won after Yahoo looked at my answers and said I hadn't broken any of their rules.

Then right after that they gave me top contributor and 'the jerk' I mean competitor has left me alone ever since.

I usually promote 3 different sites and answer quite a few questions with good answers that get best answers often so it's worked out well.

I agree, yahoo answers is a great place to get targeted traffic but the risk of being banned is high and your answer doesn't stay around long if it gets reported. I remember answering a question on there one time and it led to a sale. Its gets frustrating having your answers removed though.
