Article Writing/Submission - Do I put it on my site and submit?

If I were to write an article for my sites topic to submit to article directories, would I just submit it to the directories or would I also want to put the article on my site? Just thinking about duplicate content issues.

    I suggest better submit different articles to directories. If you post and submit the same, article directories might outrank your post. just my 2 cents.

    Hi Sillysoft

    Actually it is suggested by expert Article Marketers that you should put the article on your site first, get it indexed, then submit it to article directories.

    I don't have the thread URL, but if you put "How Does Article Marketing Work" in the search field it should bring up a thread that goes into detail why you should do that

      Typically, you'll want an original article on your site.

      Also, another for Ezine Articles, since they won't post it otherwise, if it's found in other article directories. Although they took a big hit with the Panda update and all of that, it's still remains to be the best article directory to submit to.

      As for all the others, I wouldn't worry if their duplicates or not..it's more the link you are going after from that point on, although some can bring a bit traffic for you.

        That is not true. EzineArticles only require original articles - not unique articles. The article is original if you wrote it.

        Why don't you actually read what EzineArticles say on this matter, instead of perpetrating this stupid myth?

        You should always publish your article on your own site first, and wait until it is indexed by the search engines, before publishing it on EzineArticles, or anywhere else.

    There are no duplicate content issues and there never has been: Article Marketers - Lay the Duplicate Content Myth To Rest Once and For All | Internet Marketing and Publishing

    Always submit an article to your own site first. It's your article, so get the best possible advantage from it. Don't throw it away to some article directory first.

    Wait until it has been indexed in the search engines on your own site, then submit it to article directories if you wish to. None of the article directories require unique content. They will accept articles that have been published elsewhere.
