Is Godaddy trying to pull a fast one on me

I have 2 sites coming up for renewal next month, have the co.uk and .com

The .com site redirects to the co.uk which is the main site, went into my go daddy account to renew these, the .com site is showing and i can renew it but the co.uk site is nowhere to be found in my control panel and i cannot renew.

Submitted support ticket and just got an explanation on how to renew which i know how to do.

Makes me think they are trying to stop me renewing the co.uk site for some reason.

Are you sure you got them both from Godaddy? (stupid question but worth asking).

I just logged into my GD control panel and I can see and upgrade all domains. including my .co.uk ones, so they don't seem to have a different process for them.

So if it's not showing then it's not with them, hence my question - you didn't register the .co.uk somewhere else and just forgot? (maybe that's just me)

Getting good responses from GoDaddy support is often about being persistent. Eventually, once you make it clear they haven't sufficiently answered your question, it'll filter up from first line support to someone who can actually give you a meaningful response!

      Update

After a few emails back and forth with support got it sorted they had to manually put it in the basket for me.

Word of warning for those with co.uk address don't leave it till after the 20th of the month prior.

This is the explanation they gave why it happened

UK domain names are treated a little differently than most other domains. Your .uk domain name renews before its expiration date. The renewal date depends on whether you set the domain name to auto-renew or manually renew. We attempt auto-renewal on the first day of the month prior to the domain name's expiration date. If the renewal attempt fails, we re-attempt renewal on the 10th of the month and again on the 20th of the month

Thanks Fernando. I've been using Godaddy for years and didn't know that about UK domains.

Things are a little bit fishy in Godaddy. I use namecheap and never I have faced this problem. As a register I left Godaddy one year ago. I don't like their control panel. But their price is good sometimes.

I've been using Godaddy for 10 years and also never had this problem.

As to this: 'UK domain names are treated a little differently than most other domains.' I think that they should have said "UK domain names are treated a little differently BY GODADDY than most other domains..."

I've never had such problems with the domain hosts that I use, where ever they are based.

        Just my thoughts,

        Jeff.

It sounds weird how Go daddy handles .co.uk domains...
