Youtube Ranking Factors - In order of importance?

Hi guys,

I'm trying to get a feeling for the different ranking factors in youtube, so not ranking in Google but really youtube search engine for keywords. After analyzing some results I'm wondering what you think about the importance/weight of different ranking factors.

This is the list of factors I think contribute to ranking:

  • title (KW in title, put as first words or not)
  • description
  • tags
  • #video views
  • date uploaded
  • #comments
  • #likes/dislikes
  • #favorites
  • #subscribers to channel
  • total video views for channel
  • date joined
So what do you think? Can you put them in order of importance, or what do you think have stronger impact?

      Yeah you're right, all factors are relative to competition. But still, do you think you can put them in an order?

    i don't know if we can make in order, but what i usually do is :

    1. Optimize Channel (Channel Name, tags, description)
    2. Upload videos than Optimize it (KW, desc, tags)
    3. Video Views
    4. Likes, favorites, comment
    5. video backlink
    6. channel subscriber and channel views
    7. channel backlink

    Just do this. One of my video become top of youtube videos for a 60000 searches per month using this method

      Well, as with everything it's important to get your keyword at least in the title.

      After that the most important thing is the content itself. Make sure you have fantastic content and your video will get more and more views.

      And number of views is a big deal to Youtube. Your content gets you there.
