Good script for starting site like RapidShare, MegaUpload?

I'm looking for a GOOD PHP-script so I can start up a site similar to RapidShare and MegaUpload. (my site is going to be without pirated-content).

I've been searching Google and found lots of scripts but I need your opinions on this since there's hundreds of scripts out there.

Where can I find a really good script? That got support for premium-accounts and also a affiliate-part?

In my opinion, it is probably best you get a custom script developed yourself.

Other wise it looks and will be used by spammy users and you can get caught like megaload now in the USA.

Difinitely true. If you are going to start a website like megaupload (and not a private one), you should consider to hire a web developer, designer and someone who can handle the security of your servers.

Not an easy job, especially if you don't have the money required to start such a project.

Rather getting a script you have to think about the hosting service...... Because of the space, resources, multi-tasking and much more stuff you will need to look at....

For scripts you can use these trusted and stable scripts to run a file hosting site....

File Hosting Script Site - ARWScripts - Php Web Scripts (for small files)
OxiShare - File Hosting Script - Home (Good enough to handle large sites)
XFileSharing Pro - file sharing script (medium sized file hosting)
Xtrafile.com - Under Construction (open source but good for files upto 70-80 mb)

    Missed that one :p....

If you need more consultation please let me know

    All the best

    1. Why adopt a possibly doomed business model, given the current climate.
    2. I hope you have taken hosting capacity into consideration.

Get a custom developed one, if you are serious about the site.

Having said that, I agree with ramone_johnny, unless you have a way to position yourself and the resources for the scale, etc, there is no use of getting in a market as competitive and as saturated as this.

Search on freelance sites, and you can
get a script like the one you mentioned
coded for under $1000 in the beginning.

I suggest you go for custom script if you
are wanting to take the site as a serious
    business!

One thing no one has mentioned is having some kind of mechanism or process to ensure the "no pirated content" part of the deal.

Just putting "no pirated content" in the TOS isn't going to cut it.

The ONLY way I can see this working is if EACH piece of content is HUMAN reviewed and a set of tests have to be in place to make sure the content is unique. If you are willing and have the resources to do this, then it may work. Because I think using prophylaxis, sites should just take it upon themselves to monitor what they allow and not "trust" the users.

If you can get some funding, "which may be hard at this moment"

you could try making a site with a model like "hulu.com" which makes deals with the networks.

that is of course if you eventually wanted to legally have copyrighted content which would be the appeal of these types of sites.

After seeing pictures of Kim Dotcom's mansion, I'm guessing at least a thousand document sharing sites start up this week.

    Hi,

May I recommend our script https://yetishare.com/. It is currently the largest and most highly revered file hosting script on the inernet. Feel free to ask any questions you may have.

    Regards,
    MFScripts.
