$707 in 14 days... -eep-

So today I got calls from my creditors, balance dues in the mail, and a reminder that I still have a speeding ticket out there that has to be paid before the end of the month. I need to raise $707 before the end of the month: right now, I'm writing articles like mad, but at $1-4 an article, it's going to take me a while to get where I need to be, writing anywhere from 12-50 articles a day to make ends meet. I go to school over an hour away and have schoolwork that bites into my time. I'm not looking for an instant solution or a magic wand to solve this, just some quick advice on how I can find more and faster income beyond slaving over a keyboard.

Do you have any other knowledge/skills?

You might be able to build a website or something similar that is worth several hundred dollars instead of 1-4 dollars an article.

    Gothic--

One of the biggest secrets that I have recently learned is to STOP CHASING PENNIES.

You are writing like mad. So was I. And, yes, it will take some time for you to make $700 through that venture.

But instead, I learned that there are easy ways to maximize your efforts. You can spend the same amount of time working as before, but you will reap bigger profits.

Work smart. Work smart. Work smart.

Well, I have a method I use for quick cash, but it uses ClickBank so you would have to wait for a check. It would work just as well with JVZoo or other platforms like that if you found an instant commission offer you think would work.

It is an offline affiliate method.

I find a product in a niche the average person would be interested in. Weight loss, dating, things like that work well. Dating might be good this close to Valentine's Day. My favorites are products about couponing because saving money on groceries is big right now.

The main product I use has a headline that is something like "Save 50% On Groceries Today!" We'll use that as an example.

Once you have picked the product you want to promote, pick an easy to remember domain name. Now set up a quick site on your hosting account, or if you don't have hosting you can use Weebly. Create a quick website preselling the product. This doesn't need to be too complicated. You just need to tell the average person why this product is for them.

Now make a simple flyer. For instance, mine had a simple clipart of a shopping cart of groceries and said "Save 50% or More On Your Groceries TODAY!" I then put the link on the flyer. You can also use a QR code if your product has a mobile ready sales page. (Skip it if you don't know what that means, it isn't that important.)

Print these flyers out two to a piece of paper, cut them, and start putting these on cars and handing them out. Don't get yourself in trouble though! I normally do just fine passing them out on sidewalks by grocery stores. Some stores even let me pass them out right outside of the store.

You can also print out flyers with tear off tabs that have the url on them and put them up on bulletin boards.

I've actually turned this into its own portion of my business by hiring high school and college students hand out flyers and giving them half the profits.

Alexa did pretty much what I was about to do, but she did so way more thoroughly. There are a lot of helpful threads on here for exactly the kind of situation you're in.

Good luck, and if you make your goal be sure to share your success with us!

Thank you to everyone who replied! I'm actually reading John Durham's post on creating websites for local businesses. I live in a small town that likes to keep everything "in the family" (so to speak) and don't trust many "outsiders", so I think that once I get enough articles written to cover the initial fees of webhosting and domain service, I'll be making a lot of cold calls (thankfully I used to sell knives over the phone, so talking to people is no problem). I'm determined to get 3 new clients in the next 2 weeks, which will cover my bills and leave me extra. I am so excited by this! It's something that I'm completely capable of doing, and (ironically) I'm taking a Web Design course at the college and can use that to present better products to my customers. Earlier today I was feeling hopeless and like nothing could pull me out, but everyone was so nice to me, and no one told me to stop whining but offered real solutions, that I'm about to cry just sitting at my computer.

Thank you SO much warriors! I'll definitely keep you updated on how I'm doing with this new venture!

Dude... go to Ebay and sell all the valuables. Including the flatscreen, the xbox, the ps3, and the DVD's you have. Keep the microwave and stove though.

You're already writing so I assume you already have a place to land writing clients.

So my suggestion is to use that same place to offer an ebook writing service.

If you offer an appealing enough deal and request payment in advance you can book yourself out for the next few weeks with 10 to 40 page ebook writing projects.

Say you're currently charging $4 for 500 words - that's about two pages of an ebook. So for the amount of words in a ten page report you would usually earn $20.

Most people expect to pay a minimum of $50 for that length ebook. $75 - $150 would be more the going rate though.

For a 40 pager you could look at between $200 - $600 depending on how good a researcher and writer you are.

So if you book 4 x 40 page projects even at only $200 there's your requirements met.

If you are happy going out and talking to businesses try selling websites or facebook page setups etc. (provided you are capable of creating them as you probably dont want to risk outsourcing them at this stage). A single website deal could solve your immediate issue as you should be able to charge $700. If you're not comfortable charging that you can always do a website + facebook page combo for $700 or just lower your price and sell a couple. My point is that you should easily be able to find a single sale over the next week or so.

    Good Luck!

Why don't you try looking for better paying Virtual Assisting jobs on freelance marketplaces? They'll pay a lot more than writing these $1-4 articles and I'm sure if you can write well, you can do their tasks. You can check out www.odesk.com or vWorker.com: How work gets done. Guaranteed! (there are a lot of other sites) where such jobs can be found. If you have any expertise in programming, designing websites, logos etc or doing photoshop, you should be able to earn 700 dollars on these sites much faster than you would writing content. Best of luck man.

Heres an easy method for those local businesses you are contacting.

Start cold calling just to get one sale take at least $85 and invest in a hosting account, work on getting their website up and running using wordpress. There are several tutorials online on how to use it or contact me and I can help.

You can usually crank out a site or two a day using wordpress, free but professional themes and plugins, offer even to host for a nominal $50/month fee.

Rinse and repeat and even if you get 4 clients at $250 each you will have enough for the $700 you need.

    Hope this helps.
