I've never seen less than 250K views and his last two vids I saw had 3 million and 750k views. He won't reveal any details about his process. Does anyone know how I can do this as well?

Adopt some kittens. Dress them in funny uniforms and outdated dress: top hats, monocles, tie dye...

Snap photos of them and beneath the pictures in large white letters put clever sound bites written in half-english..

    Rinse, wash, repeat.

    Good luck bro.

P.S. You're going to need a lot of cats for this. Or just one really, really good one.

I read a very good article that most videos go virual because they buy there traffic first to get them to the top searches. They say it takes over a 100,000 to get up there, Im testing this now. Up to 3000 views on three vids, will take a while to get to 100,000.

Got to Fiverr and buy 10 gigs for $5 each called, I will give you 10,000 viewers to your YouTube for $5.

Tongue in cheek... but those gigs do exist.

More info indeed. What is the nature of his content? How long has his videos been online? What are they in association with? Where do those sites get their traffic from? You've given us nothing.

The videos are online only 2-3 months before they peak. All I know is he told me he finds his targeted audience, and then he sends the video to them through the different channels. But he washes and repeats, and he won't tell me details of how he does it, just very vague. Any ideas?

Without knowing the content it's hard to say. Of course he could be buying views/likes. It happens. And of course if his content is very informative and he's considered something of a leader in his niche it could be easy for him. I'm only speculating because honestly, I still no real useful information to go on. If you are protecting a niche I understand. Just understand your question is as vague as his responses. All I can say is try to analyze every aspect of his videos if you've seen them. And investigate his niche and see if you can suss out his 'different channels'. You'll just have to put in some work to research what he's doing and reverse engineer it.

They just music videos in all different genres. Some videos are just the song with a picture of the musician on it. He's not buying links, i'm sure.

But to be a YouTube Partner, you need to be uploading original music that you yourself have created (or have legal permission from the copyright holders). So what's the benefit for him of getting thousands of views on his vids if he is a) not a YouTube Partner or b) not selling/promoting anything in the videos?

I've never understood YouTube users that post comments like 'wow, over 100k views!!! thanks!' when it's just a song with a picture for the video and they aren't earning from it at all, or getting any perceivable gain from it either...

      hard to monetize?

You can sell on itunes, you can become a youtube partner for money. That can be a nice payout, with highly targeted numbers.

That's not a bad idea, do keep us updated, I will probably PM you soon to ask about the progress, if you don't mind.

If it can't be monetised then who cares if it goes viral or not.

Focus on what matters i.e. money.

What does the comment section look like on those videos(provided that they have a comment section)? A million legitimate viewers should get him plenty of comments.

If there isn't many, maybe those are inflated numbers as some already mentioned.
