There are some WSO's here who talks about making money with Facebook, just look around or do a simple search using the Warrior Forum's search function. Outside of the Warrior Forum, there are some sources out there that you can start learning about making money with Facebook fan pages.

You can sell this traffic at cheap rates on different IM forums like this one.

You can also use Fiverr for selling the traffic using gigs.

You could also setup a sales page like this one and just sell solo ads to it. www.BuySolos.com

You would monetize them the same way as with pretty much anything else.
Build a relationship with them first - then they will buy anything from you.
It's easy to create your own facebook training to sell to them, but if you can be bothered with that, find someone who is a facebook marketing expert and do a JV with them promoting their stuff. I hope that helps.

Facebook users are social people. You can not monetize them directly. If you market your product directly to them, they might simply unfan you. This is for internet marketers like us. However brands can obviously push sales through their Facebook fan page as that's a different topic by itself.

For an internet marketer I would recommend you to create a community on your fan page. By encouraging people to talk, engage and converse you can be so powerful and helpful. Give a sense of helping people on FB in your industry and people would obviously follow your website and purchase your product / services.

This. I am very new to FB marketing, but this is the main thing NO ONE should ignore. It needs a very different approach to market to this crowd.

1. Keep your followers/fans happy with quality friendship, content they want.
2. Offer then a free gift to sign up for a mailing list based on their interest
3. Have an auto responder set up to offer content/softsells, as well as hard sells to affiliate products or your own.
4. KEEP GROWING YOUR FOLLOWING

*If you sell on your book pages directly, or throw other "spammy" types of content at them... they will stop listening 100%. It's key to move them from the social experience (Facebook) into a chosen selling experience (your list)

Autoresponders can send a series of emails, one after another on a predefined time and date. So you can send as many emails as you want AUTOMATICALLY!

Exactly, an autoresponder series, is a series of emails that A. build relationships, and B. Sells to your subscribers. The point of this method is that it allows fans to OPT IN to your mailing list to take the selling experience off of Facebook... (the relationship building can be done on both Facebook/inside the autoresponder and should be) so that NO SELLING is through your Facebook. I can't stress this enough.

Hi
It is very hard to do both social and bussiness on Facebook personal account at the same time. So I use my personal account for my social side FB, and Fan Pages for the bussiness side of things. It works out ok for me.

IMers have to have a social life too.

Little unsure about the question. Is it how to monetize your facebook traffic? Fan page or personal page?

If so it depends. As some have stated, you can use it to build a list. I have used FB successfully to sell over 12K worth of physical goods in the past 9 months. (that's gross sales, and it was for a client, so my cut was approx $4500)

I think it depends on the FB page. The people I work with have a well established brand with "fans" that are willing to spend $$ on what ever they put out. I also work with musicians/bands to sell downloads via FB as well...also falls under the same category.

So depending on the page's purpose and what your ultimate goal...monetizing FB traffic can be done, its HOW you go about doing it that could make or break you.(meaning directly/indirectly)

It all comes down to gaining credibility in the eyes of all your Facebook fans. If you convince them that you are a leading expert in a particular niche, the likelihood of them using your link to purchase products you are promoting increases exponentially. The most important thing is that you do not ever compromise on the quality of products you promote as it could result in a loss of trust of your Facebook followers in any products you market in the future.

Where can I learn to get traffic to my fan page? I want geo targeted traffic because I'm working with local businesses to promote special discount deals ie groupon/living social. What's a good way to get the page out there and popular in my local city?

It really comes down to what "cheap traffic" are you referring to. You have to identify to which niche they belong and start promoting that offers to them.
Have you established trust with your fans or you are just spamming them to death? I know that we can also make money from spammed traffic ( I have done this numerous times) but it depends what you promote to them and how much money are you getting from it. And spammy way doesn't last long.
The other way is to ask them via polls what would they like and you would be surprised as they can give you some golden nugget answers.
I am not going to say be creative like all do and you are left on your own to be creative especially if this is your first time trying to make money from you pages.
Check for demographics on your page and go from there.
