Ok...how can i set up a membership web site?

Hello!

Ok...the thing is: i will launch a product. This product it's based on videos. All the videos will be uploaded on a membership web site, where the costumer can watch them. What the costumer actually buy it's the acess for this web site, and need to get there instantly after payment.

So.. the questions are:

1) What i need to do to set up a membership web site? This web site will receive A LOT of trafic (trust me, my product will kick ass,it's totally unique in my country's e-market) so, i need to have a stable system.

2) I dont know how to build systems. So i'll need to use a software. Suggestions? Is there a good free one?

3) The web site will have a great layout, but the way it operates will be pretty simple, actually. It will have just the videos, categorized by the phases of the program (the product it's a program, splited up in three phases). So, i don't need buy a super complex software, because the system it's simple. I need to know what software gives me what i need to operate this membership web site, with out having to pay a HIGH price for it. So...let's be direct: which software have the best price, considering the cost/benefit factor for a membership web site that it's professional, good looking, yet simple?

4) This software(s) offer me the security that i need for my product?

5) How the software operates?

Ok..i know that it's a LOT of questions..and some of them are a little complex. But please help me. I need to know everything ASAP.

Thank you VERY VERY much.

I just love this forum. Best place to be in the net, with the best people.

We use S2Member. It's free, integrates Paypal and manages your subscriptions so if people stop paying they automatically get downgraded to a lower membership level pre set by you

The best membership script i think without handing over your bank account is DAP followed by wish list membership any others.

You are confident you will have members, I'd consider an OP or kajabi set up. I moved from OP to kajabi just for the site protection and launch capabilities, and couldn't be happier. Unfortunately my OP launch was hacked, so I had to move over!

Regardless what program or software or model you use, stay focused on the content and delivering value to your customers first.

So many times the software becomes the focus - the programming of the plugins and the development of the add-ons, the configuring of the whatsits and the finaggling of the whosits... pretty soon you realize that you've spent a month dealing with software and haven't made any money in the process.

Find a solution - there are many available - that works for you then keep your head down and focus on getting your site up, running and making profit.

You'll figure out the process as you go from there - but don't let the technology get in your way of what is most important.

    Customers
    Providing Value
    Traffic
    Service
    Conversions
    Consumption
    etc.

In other words, running your business, not being distracted by software.

Trust me... I speak from experience here.

Yup... software is the last thing you need to know about. Plan it out first in detail then find a software that does what you need.

You need to understand your market and make sure that they are willing to pay a monthly fee for the info.

I built a similar membership site a couple of years ago using Joomla and the AEC plug in. Joomla is open source and comes bundled with many hosting packages. The plug in used to be free, but now (I gather) they charge for it. It's worth getting, though.

PM me if I can be of assistance.

    1) Kajabi - A very stable system.

    2) Kajabi - Don'r need to download anything - it's in the cloud

    3) Kajabi - Elegant layout, easy to use, the price is just right

    4) Kajabi - Secured membership portal - not using Open Source codes

    5) Kajabi - It is always on, you only need an Internet connection and a browser
