Membership Software Dilemma: Wishlist Member vs Memberwing

Which software is better? They both look the same to me, but I like how Memberwing has Google First Click Free as an option for SEO reasons you can get more content indexed. Wishlist doesn't offer this feature.

The thing I like about Wishlist is that they are bigger and more sites use them, so will probably be around.

Memberwing seems like it has more features than Wishlist so I am curious if anyone here uses them. I know that the early version of Memberwing wasn't that great and buggy, but maybe they fixed things in version Memberwing X.

Wishlist has a history of bugs too and some quirky ways it works. I guess that's how all software is.

Has anyone here used both and can comment on the differences and which is better?

    Hi There,

I have been using Wishlist for a while now and really like it. It integrates easily with Warrior+, Clickbank etc and has a ton of functionality in it.

I have debated about going to Digital Action Pass(DAP), but Wishlist really does a lot and I find it very easy to work with.

I'm afraid I have no experience with Memberwing, so I can only speak my support of WL.

I have used both and like them both. They are just different in the way the setup, but once you get used to either one, you can't go wrong with either choice.

MemberWing supported First Click Free from the beginning of time. Originally MemberWing was born as a free project for spiritual teacher with strong accent on SEO from all aspects, including protected content. I am very passionate about SEO especially for membership sites where most of protected content are locked out by design. So any bit or piece of intelligence that could be added to membership site to boost it's visiblity in search results was a big deal for our clients (~40 countries worldwide).

Thanks everyone for all the feedback. SEO is a strong selling point. It's hard to believe that Wishlist doesn't have the google first-click free option. Does anyone know of any other membership plugins that have this besides Memberwing so I can compare?

Also what about login redirection when a person clicks on an area in a post that is protected? Do they get re-directed back to that post? Or sent to a member page? I know wishlist sends everyone back to a main member page and the user has to navigate back to where they came from to read the post. Not very user friendly. What about Memberwing? How does this work?

    Rob,

If you haven't already done so, pls do check out DigitalAccessPass.com (DAP) when you get a chance.

We don't have first-click free, but we have something called "Sneak Peek" which does something similar, if not the exact same as FCF.

We also have shortcodes that let you protect different parts of a page/post, while leaving random parts of it open and un-protected for visitors and search engines.

    >>Also what about login redirection when a person clicks on an area in a post that is protected? Do they get re-directed back to that post?<<
In DAP, yes. They get redirected back to the page or post that they were trying to visit before they got challenged with a log in form. We call it "Smart Login".
