Why get a squeezepage?

I want to build an email service for my website to offer free tips to my subscribers.

I'm quite confuse with the squeezepage concept. I know it is to get people e-mail, name but should I only have this if I don't have a normal website?

Because if I have a website isn't it better just to link people there, where they can find the subscription in the sidebar instead to a squeezepage? Besides I get an extra backlink to my main website.

Thanks,

  • A Squeeze is just another name for collecting their email.

You can put an opt in form on your website if you want.
This is just another name for name Squeeze.

    It's the same thing.

I think this answers your question.
  • You build a squeeze page so that you get higher conversion rates.
  • Ok understood thanks
  • If you have a websites try first to get subscribers from there, improve your site if it necessary it probably take less time/money then to build a good squeeze page.
  • The reason for using a Squeeze Page is to focus the
visitor on making just ONE decision: do they want to
to join your list or not?

If you direct people to a typical website or blog, they
have multiple potential routes they can take - only one
of which is to join your list via a sidebar webform.

In general, you tend to get higher opt-in rates if you
use a squeeze page - but test to find the best solution
for you and your site goals.

    • To get an accurate answer to your question..test them both.

Compare the amount of opt-ins you get from the subscription box on your website to how many opt-ins you get from your squeeze page during the same period of time and go from there.

  • Squeeze pages are the best way to build your list. But i feel we need to presell the traffic to squeeze pages for better conversion and longer relationship, i think links to squeeze page from articles or blog posts are better.

    Thanks
  • squeeze pages are one of the best solutions for getting emails. I personally have a site running right now that has a squeeze page for the main url home page and I am getting consistant subscribers. The best way to get a squeeze page running is probably optimizedpress which is the program I am using right now.
  • Make one smaller squeeze page with a short text, just getting them to sign up.

Then u can make a bigger, more content quality site with the opt-in form either popping up on your page or having it in the sidebar..

Test both of them by trying to get the same amount of traffic to both and see wich one works best. Maybe they both get you opt-ins...

All that matters is which works best for you, in your business. And you can find that out only by split-testing it in your business.

The answer's going to depend on many different factors. In my opinion, the "traffic demographics" are the single most significant variable. (In other words, who the people comprising the "traffic" are, how you're attracting them, what you're offering them as an incentive to opt in, and so on.)

Wanting to learn the answer to this myself, last year, I split-tested, in each of four entirely unrelated niches, over a 6-month period.

I found that in all four I built a bigger list from the squeeze pages but earned more money from the resulting lists built without them (i.e. with just a prominently incentivized opt-in on a landing-page of a content-rich site/blog).

So I don't use squeeze pages any more in any of my current 8 niches (the niches themselves are totally unrelated, but my traffic demographics remain very similar).

I think the specific mistake to avoid, here, is the assumption (because that's all it is) that building a bigger list will necessarily lead to more long-term income.

When I tested, I actually found the exact opposite, independently, four times over, in each of four unrelated niches.

It's tempting (but deeply mistaken) to imagine that if one method opts in more people than another, that's because one is attracting the same, relatively fixed group of people plus some additional ones. Although there'll be some overlap (and the higher the numbers are, the greater will be the overlap), this is typically not the case: what one's often really attracting is different people. And that's why these things can be a little trickier to measure "meaningfully" than many people think.

The discussion in this recent/current thread is also very relevant to the question you're asking, Jbarros: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-int...wer-sales.html
  • You need to build both of them, a web blog that has an opt-in form on the sidebar and the separated page (or separated website) to just collect people email.
  • Getting targeted traffic to the squeeze page is the key to building a quality list.

the suggestion to "links to squeeze page from articles or blog posts" to presell on what the squeeze page is about is an excellent move.

Using PPC for highly targeted traffic is excellent

Video marketing works well too. Crank out some videos and do a little SEO to rank the videos with links to the squeeze page.
