I was wondering if it's possible to start an online bookstore instead of being an amazon bookseller? Like have your own site?

    It is possible. Yet to do so you would have to get contracts form all the publishers and printers, etc. Then arange for drop shipping etc. It would be a very large undertaking. And then your comp. is Amazon. But as I said it is possible.

    Of course it's possible. You could set up a website where selling books is your thing -- the question is are you going to be successful?

    You're question doesn't address however if you want to sell books and ship them out? Will you just have the site covered with affiliate links and sell the books that way? Are these only electronic books?

    Regardless of which avenue you choose, you might want to think about highly specific niches to do this. For example -- and I'm reaching here -- maybe nothing but books about the supernatural. Or cooking with chocolate. Pick a niche where there's some interest and attempt to dominate it or at least be a player in it and the money will follow.
