I have the potential to make MILLIONS!!

Hello fellow warriors. I have recently opened a business in my hometown and I offer digital services such as Seo, promoting, marketing and such. I have already about 50 customers or more ready to pay me. I charge each about 300. I just recently opened this business so that means it has the potential to make millions. However I am stuck. I don't have an account with anyone to accept credit card. I checked on merchant warehouse, 2checkout and flagship merchant and saw there were many scam reports and hidden fees. Can I know what you guys use? What's the best site that I can use. Like low on fees and no monthly and such. Thanks

Plimus have clamped down on types of products that can be sold through them recently and they have disrespected many members by proceeding to erase accounts rather than just notify and remove the infringing products (ones that were previously accepted). I defended them in discussion here only weeks ago as I believed they offfered a good service however things are beginning to come to light and it's really not good.

They slipped in a new set of rules and pulled the carpet from beneath everyones feet and they are currently in the process of reviewing products and accounts, suspending and holding funds for 3 months at the drop of a hat.

Thankfully however there are many other alternatives since Plimus no longer have a unique selling point of accepting PayPal on behalf of the vendor. They only accept PayPal direct through vendors PayPal accounts.

With that in mind it probably wasn't their best move to go kicking customers to the curb.

You can have your money withdrawn a lot sooner from other payment providers instead of waiting a month.

Thanks for the feedback. I do not use them for any IM type of products, but closing down vendors accounts with no warning is just hostile and irresponsible. I will not keep too many eggs in this basket. Thanks.

What a joke, they charge 5-15%. Unless you want to give your business away, don't do it.

Are they good? Did you have any problems yet or anything? I need something that's the best. Low fees. No monthly fees(not necessary) and the best reputation. No account cancellation and such

Socialbacklink's recommendation is good. Your requirement that you never have any problems is a bit unrealistic. Not that I am saying you will constantly have problems, but it might not always be smooth sailing. All it takes is for one person, one transaction. Good luck in your venture, sounds like you will be successful

I have personally used authorize.net and have not had any issues. They even have an app so you can accept credit cards over your phone. Also, I've used Google Checkout, which people can use their credit cards through. But if you're looking for a more traditional credit card processor I'd look into authorize.net

2checkout is fine for me. I habe also an account on plimus but you'd need a paypal account or alertpay

So is 2checkout fine? How long you had it? I just don't want them to close my account and keep my money. So it's safer for weekly payments so they don't have much to hold if it happens

    You could always use 1shoppingcart.com.

    Isn't that a shopping cart only? Don't I need a payment gateway?

Local business, I'd go for an online merchant account at your LOCAL national bank. This is what I did and I loved it.

For example, I went with Authorize.net through my BB&T firm. I don't even know about % fee differences and what not... but I LOVE the fact that come any type of dispute, or issue that I don't know/understand, I simply contact John at his cell in my phone, and he takes care of it for me...

Having an actual contact may benefit you greatly in this case. Especially if you are concerned with scams and what not (which you should be with online merchants)

Everybody (just like you) will have potential to make millions....as long you start small and knows how to give value. As for the payment processor for them to pay you, I would go for 2Checkout.

I'd hate to break in on this because people are going to think im nuts, but paypal. Im sure most of your customers are going to have a paypal account. I used to own a large landscape co. and what I did was put a simple payment page in place for my customers with paypal buttons on it, then they can pay via your page, you get an email, they can pay directly from your site(page) with a CC. Then when you get the paypal email simply update your books on who has paid and who hasn't. You also have the options of sending invoices to their email which only takes a few minutes and no monthly fee's. If your charging $300 bucks flat rate, paypal might take out like $12 bucks or something.. but ive been with them for over 12 years. Yes I agree they can be idiots at times but if you keep it simple, you shouldnt have any problems. Just a suggestion.

Good luck with making it to a million (or more).

Presumably you'll make it sooner than anyone expects if your calculation of 50x300 is any kind of indication of your pedigree.

2checkout is an outstanding payment processor. Google any payment processor + scam and you will get tons of results. Payment processors deal with lots of shady merchants who sell anything from knock off goods to fake get rich stuff to illegal medication and these businesses are bound to get closed or in legal trouble. The shady merchant will cry foul at the payment processor for any reason be in a high charge back rate or a payment stopped due to abuse reports. They will try to blackmail the payment processor with negative propaganda.

There are truly WORTHLESS "rip off" sites where you can report a shady merchant but these same sites do not monitor what users post or if it is indeed the truth. They even pride themselves in the fact that you can not remove a report but just comment on it. These sites are a platform for slander and a heaven for the competition to ruin your reputation.

Most of these "rip off" report sites are run by scumbags who are well aware of the flaws in their "business model" but they choose to take the easy way out and pretend to have "integrity in reporting" and do not allow deletion.

Yes. Have worked with them for the last 10 months. 0 problems. Great customer service. Weekly pay outs.

I am working on opening an Authorize.net account at the moment, it requires a US merchant account so its a bit of a pain in the ass. Authorize.net do have a small commission that you pay but you have to keep in mind that a merchant account with bill you as well, not just the credit card processor.

Pretty much all of the payment processors cost you the same but offer different levels of service. For example Plimus is very good but they pay out once/month and compared to 2checkouts 1/week this is less than optimal but Plimus does not have a "rolling reserve" like 2checkout does.

My advice to you is to process in 2-3 places. Sometimes transactions will be declined by 2checkout but will work over Plimus or Payoneer.

Any of the following are just fine:

      Google checkout
      2checkout
Authorize.net (is a payment gateway you will need a merchant account!)
      Plimus
or anything related to Payoneer is basically a solid service...

Atvking, do you think I should stick with paypal until I get enough sales to open a 2checkout and then maybe a merchant acc?

Not everybody has Paypal so you may want to broaden your payment options. 2checkout is your best choice if you are a small set up. I don't know how much your average sale is going for but for 100$+ items I have found their processing to be outstanding. They also accept paypal as a form of payment, and I would suggest you process paypal over their service because you will not be open to paypals arbitrary blocking of accounts.

A merchant account is something you should research in depth. The best advice I can give you is that you contact Authorize.net and ask THEM what merchant service providers they work with so that you can use their payment gateway. Authorize.net really runs a tight ship their processing is second to none (US card acceptance and customer support and API) but for 3rd world people like me its hard to get a US account. If you are in the USA Authorize.net is your best choice IMO.

There are also tax considerations, 2checkout is based offshore and you can get payed through their payoneer debit card. I'm not advocating tax evasion I am advocating asset protection. It is perfectly legal to incorporate offshore.

Lots of things to think about...

I will definitely be trying googlecheckout because google is well known and not many of my customers have ever heard of 2checkout or Authorize.net...Some people claim googlecheckout gives them 10-20% increase in sales just because of brand awareness...

My plan, when I get my US merchant account finally open, is to process over Authorize.net and use Googlecheckout as my back up processor. In my business 1 out of 20 or 30 payments fail because my processor views the transaction as fraudulent or thinks that the credit card may be stolen, but in 99% of all cases this is not so, and I am happy to have a back up processor that steps in right after the declined transaction.

I know I will be a little off topic with my answer, but I was so drawn in by your thread topic...
I finished reading a must read book called Secrets Of The Millionaire Mind by T. Harv Ecker and it just resonated so much with your title. If you can read the book its quite eye opening.

All the best in finding your solution.

So okay I guess I can take a look at 2checkout. But I have a question. Doesn't paypal also accept credit cards? If you click don't have an acc. Or is that a burden? Also which on is better. Google checkout or 2checkout. And I want to connect it to invoicera.

Paypal has over 100 million members. Very rarely will you ever find somebody that doesn't have an account unless they are from a country that doesnt allow paypal or on the other hand a disgruntled X paypal user that paypal pissed off. Yes it happens.. all the time. Ive been using them for around 12 years now, they do ok and the secret is to link your bank account to the account, then once you get a payment withdrawl it to your bank account asap, and don't keep any money in your paypal account because they have a habbit of locking peoples accounts who have money in them. If your balance is zero and the money is in your bank account and not in your paypal account its much less of a hassle if they lock it with a zero balance rather than a $1000 balance. I've got a couple customers that this has happened to. Not sure about the other payment processors, so I guess its really up to you and what your comfortable with. I personally like the ability to immediately withdrawl it and have it in my bank account within days without ever having to step foot in a bank. Their fee's are ok, pretty comparable. Setup is free..

Why not simply turn to your bank in your area and talk with them about accepting credit cards for your business as well as an online presence in being able to accept credit cards?

Doing this should also alleviate some apprehensive business owners because the bank you are dealing with is local, etc...

Authorize.net is what I use for my retail store and several websites.

They are one of the few sources that aren't ...evil.

If you talk to a processor and they want to lease you a terminal for hundreds of dollars a month, run.

The reason Authorize.net takes a little effort to get set up with, is that they are a real credit card processor.

Nearly everyone in the world has a VISA, Mastrercard, or Discover card. That's what Authorize.net is for.

Paypal is fine, but people already have credit cards. Most do not have Paypal accounts (I'm guessing).

      Real businesses take credit cards.
