What do I do with the domain bowlofcereal.com ?

INTERNET MARKETING

I have a domain that i haven't used much with decent hits.

the domain name is http://bowlofcereal.com

what can I do with it to make money off it WITHOUT spending more then one hour a week on it?

Become an affiliate for some product?

give me some ideas- i'm trying to thinkout outside my own box, but as they say...

"the shoemakers children go without shoes".

gimme some 3rd party objective thinking!

Hi, you could get a bunch of articles together discussing cereal, healthy vs not, sugar etc, and have some google adsense ads on there and just promote your url an hour a day. Getting the articles would probably be the most time consuming, unless you read some of the posts where you could collect them from the web. Either way, it's possible.

Make it a supporting aka farm blog. Throw up some generic humor posts that can relate to keywords you want to target. Add a new humor post every 2 weeks or so and add in links to your target sites gradually and naturally. If it does end up getting reasonable search traffic then consider monetizing it with appropriate affiliate offers.

Ignore the domain name and use it for something else that might be vaguely related like kitchen remodeling or breakfast nutrition. Just make sure that your title meta-tag uses the target keywords like "Low Cost Kitchen Remodeling" or "Healthy Breakfast Recipies" rather than "Bowl of Cereal"

Use the search term "cereal coupons" and related long tails and go for Adsense earnings. They won't be a big earner though, probably about 10-20 cents a click at best.

Sign up as an eBay affiliate and target unusual and vintage cereal bowls: cereal bowl, Pottery Glass, Home Garden items on eBay.com

create your own brand muesli, and sell it by mail. Make it 10% more 'healthful' than typical cereals, and bingo. You're the next Kellogs.

I see that you've got a link back to your post here at the Warrior Forum. Of all the creative & business types that peruse this site you should have no problem selling the domain. It has a catchy enough phrase. If not here then someone in the blogosphere may be interested in picking it up. Heck, if the price was right I might even be interested. The sky's the limit.

By the way, how long have you owned the domain? Have you tried to meter the traffic? You may have a built in audience/customers from previous owner(s).

I have it for several years...

I deleted the content when i posted this request....

Starting my own cereal brand is a neat idea, but probably takes over an hour a week UNLESS i find a place like Lulu or LightningSource That Custom Imprints and Ships Cereals...

Does that exist? :lightbulb:

Your domain is a good one... It has qualities of a good domain...

You have several ways to make money with it...

1. Add original contents and flip it
2. Grow the site and sell it
3. List your domain at sitepoint, sedo (as a site), afternic and sell it
4. Write on cereals and add affiliate products
5. Create a product around cereals and sell your health book
