Fanatic testers out there with or without video

I was wondering I know there's a lot of fanatic
testers on this forum and i wanted to hear some
of your results on having a squeeze page with
video and one without video.

Which one had the best results overall?

With video or without video.

With video. With the proviso that the video is relevant
and includes a reference to the benefits of signing up.

      So John that's something you've
      tested, right?

I added video to my paid thank you
page and conversions went up 10 to
15% in just a few hours...

        Absolutely!

And my results were a fair bit better than yours too

          Dammm you John...lol

          That's awesome mate
          but is there any drawbacks
          to having video on your
          squeeze page?

Keep the video short and punchy, yet
give plenty of value. Keep the file size
as low as you can and don't host your
            site on a slow server.

anybody test "autoplay" for the video as well? I haven't got any hard numbers (haven't tested it enough), but small intial testing seems to show that having the video play automatically on the squeeze page improves opt in rates.

I've tested long vs. short video, and I've found short video works better, but again haven't tested this extensively enough to draw any hard conclusions from.

                Jason,

I've tested autoplay and it reduced the conversion rate
                in most of my tests.

It also reduced the average length of visit, so I assume
that people were closing the window/tab when the video
                started.

This may have been because people were at work or maybe
they didn't want to disturb others in the room.

Not everyone surfs while using headsets.

                  This is most interesting so
                  by having the video autoplay
                  that makes visitors leave your
site, is this for every niche
                  or just IM...

If I came across a page with an auto playing video on it I would stop it and look at the page then watch the video then think about signing up, just my thoughts.

I thought autoplay would be Gr8,
                  but testing showed the opposite.
