Suggest the best Newbie Product...

I have a friend who is currently on maternity leave. She was wondering what I've been doing these days to be able to stay at home with my son. I couldn't really answer her because I promised myself to stay low until I prove to myself that I can make atleast 2k a month. Anyhow...since I just started, I'm not really in any shape to show her the way to success.

Can you suggest the best newbie friendly product that you have personally used that has really been able to make you decent money? She only has a month left before going back to work. She doesn't want to have to leave her baby with a sitter or a day care.

P.S. I don't know how much or if she knows anything about internet marketing. I, on the other hand already knew some things about this business...finding the right model for me and following the plan was all I had to do to start making money. BUT again...with just a month of experience, I'd rather not take the responsibility of teaching her.

So please...suggest the best step by step guide. I'd really love to help her. Thanks in advance!

The sad truth is there is no quick way. The best way is to start learning.

I just launched a new site that brought in $5,000 in 5 days but this was because I learned how to do this and because I have built up many strategic partnerships that let me do this.

Here are key points that I have learned on my way to a 6 figure income online.

        1. Make your own products. Use affiliate products as additional revenue streams, not as your main focus.

        2. Sell continuity products. These are products that provide monthly income from a single sale.

        3. Test and track everything. 90% of my advertising budget was wasted until I started tracking.

        4. Don't waste your time on things that don't bring you income. We all find things we like to do online (like posting in forums) that don't bring in money. Drop these and focus.

        5. Form marketing alliances and partnerships - these are the fastest way to get the word out fast on a new product.

        Hope this helps!

    Hello Theresa

BostonDave here, I hope you get a lot of suggestions, although I Have some experience, I would like to see some of the answers myself. I am working on a niche right now, it is going to take some time and I realize that. But I could really use just a small influx of cash right now, to keep my head above water, until my other efforts start producing.

Sorry I cannot help, but looking forward to some of the Warriors suggestions.

Hi, a month is not a lot of time. Let's see, she could buy a domain that has a high page ranking and then get a premade google adsense content website, (there are a few packages out there that range from $10-40), she'll need to open up an account with google adsense and start promoting asap. Once her pages are indexed she should start making decent money because she has such a high ranking PR domain.

I'm only suggesting buying the high PR domain because she only has a month. Or she could do it herself, but it takes a lot of submitting and book marking to get a high page ranking for your website.

I just managed to buy a PR3 site for $30.00 so it's possible to get started without paying too much money.

If there is an easier way then this, I'm not aware of it. I'll have to see what other tips people leave behind.

People, a newbie isn't going to benefit from any program until they gain an understanding of how to use it and how IM, in general, works.

Telling a newbie, "Get this and do that!" is the same as throwing someone off the end of the pier who doesn't know how to swim and telling them to swim. They'll most-likely drown. (How many get-rich programs have you bought that you never used because you didn't know how to use them?)

A newbie must begin with the basics. I suggest they begin by signing up for Chris Farrell's free newsletter, Chris Farrell's Success Grenade (Google that for the link.)

It is full of important information that will benefit any newbie.

A website is a must in the IM world if you expect to make a dollar. Chris's video tutorial series, createyourfirstwebsite, will show you how to create your first website and he even explains how to do ftp. He makes it dead simple to understand how to create a simple website even if the only thing you can do right now is check your emails. Well worth the small price he asks for it. (I know. I have it.)

Once someone has a grasp of the basics, then and only then should they look into trying more advanced tactics.

That's the best advice I have to offer. Hope that helps.

(Note: I am not affiliated in any way with Chris Farrell other than owning and liking some of his products.)

That's very true. This can be a difficult business if you're not schooled and trained in it, or at least have done some in-depth research on your own. It's not like unskilled labor such as flipping burgers, it's more like a skilled trade.

    Hi Theresa..

Without knowing your friends current skills, resources, time, capital to invest, we really would struggle to make a recommendation that would be a good fit.

So, with that in mind..I would like to make a couple of suggestion for various roads to travel.

If your friend is short on cash to invest, and would have time to put into generating traffic and learning etc..

I would recommend Travis Sago's Bum Marketing Method or EA Profit Launcher.

    EA Profit Launcher

Bum Marketing Method - Free Traffic Tips

If your friend has some money to invest (which I would always advise someone to find before they look to start any sort of "business") I would recommend either:

Wealthy Affiliate or Chris Rempel's Series of guides, from confesssions to conduit method

WealthyAffiliate.com - The Wealthy Affiliate University

    Confessions of a Lazy Super-Affiliate

I am affiliated with the above, but none of those are my affiliate links.

I wish your friend well in her search.

Let's be honest here.. a marketer with half a handle on things wouldn't need to be shamelessly soliciting for custom on a discussion board now, would they?

If you can't market your own product well enough to come here without an agenda, then maybe you shouldn't be showing people how to market?

Perhaps I went over board in the way I answered the thread. That's as far as I go with any contrition in response to your comments.

In all fairness, I hope those sentiments are also extended towards your good friend Jason D. for he has done the same thing as I have in this thread.

As far as my honesty and marketing prowess is concerned, I'm doing quite well in niches that have nothing to do with making money online.

I'm well versed in using Google's Site Placement program and also have quite a few positions in the free search engine listings and I've been earning a full time living with my net business for almost 3 years.

My income is not and will never be dependent of income from the how to make money niche and as a matter of fact it accounts for less than 1% of my online income so $17 here and $30 there won't help me at all.

I've have 3,400 square feet at the house and a couple of rentals. My kid goes to private school in America - all maintained with my online earnings.

If it seems like I spend a lot of time at this forum, it's because 90% of my business is on autopilot and I love to help people - and based on the thank yous and other comments on my threads, I have.

I'm sure a got at least one kudos for at least one of my threads from you yourself.

I know I add value to this forum - way beyond this transgression of WF etiquette and your Xtreme comments are waaaaaaaaaay out of line, not based in reality and totally unwarranted.

          And finally,

If you don't have any agenda, why not get rid of your sig file?

You don't need to respond cause I'm through with it. But if you must you must.

Theresa, If your friend is "brand new" to the world of Internet Marketing...Tell her not to SPEND A DIME on anything, until she has a grasp on the basics.

If he/she starts buying method after method chances are good that he/she will get stuck in the same vicious cycle of information overload that so many people seem to be paralyzed with.

They should read as through as much free information as possible to see what kind of business model that they feel comfortable with and what model fits best into the amount of time and money that they can spend on their business.

I'd recommend sitting aside a solid week for reading through posts on this forum and others to get a working knowledge of "what's what".

Sure, there's a risk of some initial info overload, but the advantage of having some sense of how things really work is a great way to avoid poor buying decisions and the disappointment/frustration that goes with them.

    hi,
here is what I can recommend as I started out 1 month ago.

Before you buy anything go and do the thirty day challenge by Ed Dale to grasp the basic understanding of IM. (That can be done in 7 days)

Then look for Jeremey Kellsal's 35 dollar coaching bootcamp (wso special offers) as you can look over his shoulder.

If you apply everything that you've learned in those 2 programs you will make your first sale within 14 days, you will understand the basic concepts of IM and you will be selling products that already sell.

All this information will cost you 35 dollars!

This is my advise to learn the basics and make your first sales within 14 days. (Those first sales are so important to keep you motivated, without them you're likely to give up as you get stuck. That's at least what happened to me)

Now once you got the fundamentals and you have made your first sales you'll like this game and you will want to make enough money to escape the rat race.
I guess this is when you need to learn about product creation.

    I hope I could help.
    mario

p.s. This plan is meant for people on a low budget.

If you have money to invest you should DEFINITELY go with one on one coaching as this is the only way to quickly learn what is working out there. The biggest problem I had was that I often got stuck with something and then I had to look for hours to find the answer in some fourm.
With a coach you just call him up and 5 minutes later you are up and running again.

Tell her to come here and start READING (not buying).

Find out what she knows. Without knowing that, there's no way to help. One month isn't enough for anyone totally new to create a steady income. That's just a fact. But if she is comfortable with computers, can navigate the web and knows a few basic elements, a fairly fast start is possible.

How much time is she willing to spend each day working? Is she willing to spend money to get a domain and hosting? Does she understand that working at home means working - not just being at home? In other words, is she focused and realistic?

If you are making money after a month you are the perfect person to tell her what is needed and to judge how much she must learn to get to the level you were when you began. You don't have to share your own business model but can tell her how much you work and generally what you do daily.

    No! no! No!

You cannot build a successful, real business in 1 month. Let's get back to reality.

The Internet is a great place to build a fantastic income from the comfort of your home, but anybody who is going to tell you that you can create a good monthly income in one month is full of what comes out of the backend of the beast below:

The Internet is not magic! It will not make you fistfuls of money after just a little effort. You have to build a real business, and that is not going to happen in one month. So, tell your friend to start thinking a little more long-term.

For the most disparate of affiliates here is what you do. This was told to me by someone who will remain nameless. Open up the phone book/yellow pages and start calling local mom and pop businesses. Tell them you will make them a website for free... Get their info. Send them a link for hostgator (your affiliate link)... rake in easy $50 commissions (much higher when sales increase)

Make them a site, move on.

And yes, this can be done online as well, just send individual emails from a gmail acct and personalize each.

For a totally new person, I would suggest The Kickstart Course by Tony Shepard and Sara Brown. It's 12 months of weekly lessons, designed to build a complete business-not just a bunch of techniques. I've also liked Derek Gehl's material, and I would openly suggest anything by Kevin Riley-in this case, I'd probably go with his homestudy course.

All of these courses have a unique style, but any ONE of them, followed, will teach your friend to build a sustainable online business.

I welcome her to the world of Internet Marketing! It is a good way for stay-at-home moms to earn some extra cash and be with the kid(s) at the same time. You and your friend can help each other out and if you two are in the same niche, you two can joint-venture, that will cut her learning curve a lot. Just my 2 cents.

Tell your friend the best thing she can do is create her own Wordpress blog ( a real one - not the Wordpress.com pages - so a domain and hosting)
Make it a personal one where she can share her stories - especially having a new baby.
Do a "dear diary" type of blog and then look for affiliate products related to the content on her blog.
When its a personal blog like that, the product reviews have a warmer touch. They don't come off like an ad.
Having her own blog/website will give her an opportunity to learn. It will be a good starter and allow her to experiment.

Developing an online business - even through a personal blog takes time. If she is really "friendly" and an active writer then she will get visitors to her blog and create a passive income through the affiliate links she has.

I'm going to assume she knows nothing about haveing a website - she's just been a visitor to websites owned by other people?
Someone like that needs to play with a basic blog/website to get her feet wet and see if she likes it.
Having a real online business is not for everyone. She might find its more work than she wants or she might find its great fun.

Ok time for my plug - everyone else is doing it. In my signature Tina and I put together a Wordpress users group - lots of videos, downloads and help in the forum. Its a new group so just a few people in there now - good for newbies as we can offer a lot of personal attention.

Anyway, besides the plug - I am a firm believer that everyone just starting out needs to play with their own website - its the best way to learn.

When learning IM, learning on your own with a pile of ebooks will only get you so far. Don't get me wrong, there's lots of great ones out there (and crap ones). However, I truly believe that to take your education to the next level, you either need to purchase a full blown course, or get some coaching.

You need to work with someone who is producing results themselves, who can show you the ropes and who will have time to show you the ropes-you can see if someone is around a lot by looking at how consistent they are with their article marketing, video marketing and forum posts.

Someone who responds to you quickly when you email them. That's always a good sign. The most important thing to remember is that if she does one thing at a time she will succeed. Show her one thing one program at a time, help her or find someone that will help her to get results and make sure she doesn't get distracted.

It's good to spend some time learning in the beginning and making sure that you don't get sold a hundred times while you are learning! lol

It's happened to a lot of people, their buying resistance is low so learning becomes shopping!

The best thing is to get someone to show their strategies so you can plug into a system that is making them money

Duplication works, copy them and make sure that they will have the time to show you how to duplicate what they have done.

For example there are lots of people marketing lots of different voice broadcasting systems online, I would find the best sponsor, see if they have time for me. And make sure they are going to continue to have time for me till I know what to do, then I would join them and play simon says till I turned a profit.

That is what I would do If I was new and didn't know what to do-leverage the knowledge of others.

Because once she's made some money with one thing the gates of heaven open wide!

Then she can get through every learning curve with a big smile on her face!

The most important thing is to avoid learning everything before you've made money, that's why the MLM business model is so good if you have a good sponsor who is producing results then you can follow their advice and succeed quicker:-)

Our team offers free internet marketing training we cover all aspects of marketing, article marketing, forum marketing, video marketing, craigslist you name it! Check out my signature file for the link.

The most important thing to remember is that you have to focus on producing results with one thing before moving on to the next...

Let her know there's work involved and I'm sure she'll be fine:-)

    Good Luck
