You should tell us more about your ebook to get "smart" answer.

My top 3 ways we sell every ebook we release:

    1. Affiliates - we make sure to setup an affiliate program and seek out top authority site owners in our niche so that when we launch, we hit a market hard to gain momentum and make early sales

    2. Blog - blogs just simpley work! If you post each day, know your target market and understand the keywords that visitors will use when looking for information you provide, then blogging will bring you the traffic you need to sell your ebook

    3. A sales process that converts visitors into subscribers and subscribers into customers. You can either send people directly to your sales site and then try and grab those that don't buy into your list (via an exit pop-up as an example) or you can drive traffic to a landing page designed entirely to sign up subscribers and then expose them to your main sales page via your email campaign. Either way can work, just make sure you do have a process for capturing visitors, turning them into subscribers and continuing to convert them to buyers.

In addition to affiliate traffic and traffic from your blogs, press releases, social networking, article syndication all work very well too...I would make sure you have the first 3 items above locked and loaded first though.

Honestly, OP, you do yourself a disservice by failing to use the search function when you have a simple question like this. While there will usually be helpful members available to share their advice with you in a new thread, you would learn so much more by reading the multiple previous threads on this subject.

As someone else previously said, you really should have said what niche your e-book is in.

I am going to assume it is in the internet marketing niche. If it is in any other niche besides internet marketing, seriously consider publishing it in the appropriate category as a Kindle e-book.

If it is in the internet marketing niche, you would do much better to search this forum and read the previous responses for guidance.

      Good luck!

It really doesn't, matter what the niche is for most promotional techniques. There are niches that certain aspects work better but those promotional vehicles that have stood the test of time will always have a presence.

True enough, but it surprises me how many people in non-IM niches do not consider publishing their material as Kindle e-books when Kindle is sooo hot right now.

I just meant that Kindle, Nook, and similar devices should be additional avenues to explore to sell e-books.

Actually, one of the great things about publishing via Kindle is that if your book is of quality, Amazon advertises/markets your Kindle e-books for you.

I have never had to promote or get traffic to any of my Kindle e-books because Amazon does it themselves in various ways.

Hope this is what you wanted to know.

This is interesting, is there somewhere I could learn what they do to promote, and or do they also promote fiction books as much?

Actually, that's one of the reasons why I appreciate the Kindle platform - I neither want nor need to know the how-do-they-do-it parts. It works. I get results that satisfy. I don't want to spend the time to reverse-engineer or second-guess anything.

As for the fiction books part of your question, that is primarily what I started off doing and since I have done so well by Amazon, I now do nothing but fiction. Thanks to them and the people who love my e-books, I do absolutely no promoting of my own. Let me know if you have any other questions.

Remember, it is in Amazon's best interests to help as much as they can to make your book/e-books sell - as long as you do your part of supplying them with quality content.

This is not true. Amazon Kindle only prohibits you to sell else where IF you opt to join their KDP Select which allows you to share the profit of Amazon's "Kindle Owners' Lending Library" program (prime members join this program on the subscription basis which allows each member to borrow your book without due date with having to pay anything extra). If you do not join KDP Select, then you are free to publish elsewhere.

I like the Kindle publishing option. I have 3 books on there right now and all 3 are selling. I have done no promotion at all.

Of course, it will all depend on your niche. IM related books do not seem to do well on Kindle.

Normally I sell my products on clickbank & ebay.

One thing I like about clickbank is their affiliates. (of course your website need to have good conversion rate + affiliate tools)

I like ebay is because of their ready traffic :-)

It is kind of difficult to determine the best way to sell an e-book, since different people look for different types of strategies.

If you don't have time to setup a website and market your e-book, you could look for affiliates to sell it for you on sites like Digital Products Retailer: Affiliate Program & Sell Online - ClickBank. The obvious downside to this option is that you'll have to give a considerable portion of your revenues to people marketing your e-book as commission, but it is normally worth it if you get good affiliates who can get you a lot of sales

You could sell your book directly on websites such as Amazon Kindle, Instabuck » The fastest way to sell digital goods online or even Electronics, Cars, Fashion, Collectibles, Coupons and More Online Shopping | eBay as well as setting up a website or a blog, and after getting considerable traffic and putting up good content, marketing your e-book there.

There are other ways to market it as well, of course, but I've just summarized a few. I hope this helps!

The Internet is the best place where you can do business. This is the melting pot of everything. Your product is the right fit for this medium. There are several ways on how you can sell your e-Book. First, you have to know what your target market is. This will depend on what the e-Book is all about. After determining your target market, you can advertise through blogs that are of related content. You might also want to set up your own blog or create your own website if you are looking at long-term engagements in creating e-books. A lot of entrepreneurs do this. This is perhaps the most efficient way on how you can reach out to people.

You can also advertise through online stores. Top online stores are the best to get in touch with. You will definitely get noticed by doing so.

An informal way of selling your e-book is via social networking sites. You could either advertise in facebook or make your own account as the source for information. I have lots of friends that do these things.

A very smart way to do it is to set up your site with a sales page for your ebook, then go to a very popular blog and offer the owner a split of the profits in exchange for putting a banner ad to your site. This can work amazingly well in non-IM niches where blog owners are not as marketing-savvy as people in the IM niche.

Eh, I don't care for threads like this. Where to Sell an Ebook

Here's a pretty basic way to do it though:

    1. Create a sales page on your domain. There are a number of Wordpress themes and plugins to make this very easy to do, if you're using WordPress.
    2. Create a squeeze page with a niche-related incentive, preferably something that makes your lead WANT your product. Again, very easy to do with WordPress.
    3. Create a series of follow ups that promote your ebook.
    4. Drive traffic to the squeeze page and then let the funnel do the rest.

    -lists of other marketers
    -organic search results
    -social media
    -your blog

In all instances, you can get the fastest traffic through paid advertisement.
