when the domain expired on Dec 14 last 2011, did you guys renew it?

if so, you may need to contact your host coz it's throwing a 403... it could be as simple as a missing index.html/default.html file or all your files were gone from the server (did you renew server hosting as well?)

it says it was auto-renewed and that it now expires 12/13/12 so I assumed their would be no problem there? server hosting is fine, the server still thinks its hosting my site, obviously its hosting nothing but a blank page

Contact your host. May be a security issue or seems the content has been modified/deleted?

If it's a wordpress site, they can be easily hacked

Your host if good, should be able to restore the site to an earlier date

The site in question gets a 403 Forbidden error, which could well be the result of your hosting account temporarily disabling it.

Login to your cpanel and check the folder for the site in the File Manager and see if it has read/execute permissions set. If not, then it has been disabled.

The best thing to do is contact your host. There are lots of things that can account for your site being not available. Your host is in better position to tell you the exact situation

I would first upload the new version of Wordpress to your server. If that doesn't do the trick, contact your host.

EDIT: the message I get when I visit is

    Forbidden
You don't have permission to access / on this server

You'll need to contact your host.

I get a simple "page not found" message - looks like a hosting issue.

You can put an html site online and leave it for a couple years and it will be fine as long as you renew domain and hosting is paid - not always true with wordpress which needs occasional updating.

You haven't lost the domain so shouldn't be too hard to fix.

contact your host and make sure if you get your hands do the make sure the basic admin username / password is not easy to break in , this is the most important reason for WP hacks...

I've just done some connectivity tests on the URL itself (selfcateringnorthumberland.info) and even trying to say "hello" to your server it's timing out.

What "might" have happened is the domain has renewed, but whoever you registered the site with seems to have removed what is called the "DNS entry" for the site.

There is a bit of a weird thing too.

Please bear with me while I try to explain this...

Each website has a long number attached to it. What the DNS servers do is take a query from you in NAME form, and looks up a huge list to find what number is attached to your website.

    For example;

My website is paul-irvine.com and has the number (known as an IP address) of
    174.120.16.119

Your website selfcateringnorthumberland.info has an IP address of 174.129.203.22.

The reason this is peculiar is because this IP address is part of the Amazon storage system known as "EC2"

So...I think either your webhost is hosting your website on an amazon server. If this is the case, then you will need to get them to contact amazon to have it reactivated as it looks like this is why it isn't accessible in the first place.

Hope that all made sense, let us know how you get on!

    Cheers,
    Paul.

Hi there how did you get on?? perhaps your website was hacked if so Please PM me.

This could just be your domain or server need renewing or activating, this is most likely a hosting issue then please contact your host as soon as you can.
