Do people make fun of your niche?

Thanks for the post rkat55. Visionaries for the last....well always been made fun of their "outside of the box" mentality. After many years of simply making my "niche" idea just inside my head, I am tired of no one understanding my "niche". Sometimes to be a leader in any field it is lonely and very sweat-inducing. By the way "colon tweezers" has got to be the funniest line I've ever heard.

My personal friends don't know too much about my niche sites, I only have a couple anyway, but they know I have other sites. The only one they know about is my logo design website thats it lol :/

Niches with an "embarrassment factor" can be very lucrative. Many customers would prefer to search online for a solution than go to a local resource.

Anything sexual like STDs, toys, dysfunction solutions, etc. will have may buyers looking online for a solution.

The same with socially embarrassing conditions. Problems like hemorrhoids, acne, bad breath, body odor are also lucrative.

People prefer online resources so they don't have to and ask for "embarrassing product" from the 17 year old sales girl at the pharmacy.

Some times people will but in a couple years time I know that I am going to be a 7 figure a year marketer. I will do anything it takes.

But sometimes people laugh at niches like building muscle and such. These small niches.

But when I first started out, I spoke to a marketer on here, who to date is the most successful marketer I have seen. He spoke me through some stuff and helped just because he said he wamnted to see a successful kid. Anyway he told me he deals with about 100 tiny niches, on the keyword tool none of them get more than 8000 searches per month. But with the sheer volume of the 100 niches he is making a killing. Plus I doubt there is any competition on niches so small!

I know a mans. man who runs a online wedding website makes you go HHHHhhhmmm. But he said do you know how much money there is in that industry?

He is smart he is going to where the money is at!

hmmm, I wouldn't get into mlm, but I wouldn't make fun of it either. For me, mlm holds too many bad associations.

My first niche was hawaii travel .... not much to make fun of there

My niche is chocolate. Well, one of them. No one has ever laughed at my choice of product.

I never entered the Hannah Montana niche.

(There are a few good reasons to use pen names.)

Saw a book sold in Amazon online titled "OMG How to live with Extra Large ____(male genitalia)"... Really funny, but I think that's a very targeted niche...

I do my best not to pick niches that i would get laughed at, tends not to make to much money, well unless its s-ex related.

Nah, who gives a sh!t what others think of your niche, or even the fact that you make a living doing Internet Marketing.

I was at lunch today with my Grandma and other family members when my aunt looked at me and asked "Whats Digital Bankroll?"

I said "Oh, thats my info product!" in a very excited tone like someone in my family actually gave a hoot.

She looked at me with a very puzzled look on her face, shrugged her shoulders and said "Whats that?"

I said very slowly "Its an information product that teaches people how to make money online." And I stopped right there because going into any specifics would have been futile.

I then went on to say "Yeah, and its helped a ton of people make their first sale online, and because of that, I now wake up to money in my email account virtually every single day."

Still confused, she replied and said "Oh great well it sounds like its really taking off."

I laughed and said "You have no idea. What are you doing for the party later tonight?"

The moral of that story is, even though my aunt has virtually no idea what I do, how it works, or what it could do for her passion about movies, she was confused and skeptical.

And thats literally how 99% of everyone you ever talk to about your Internet business will react. Its because its such a new/different industry and way to make money that most people still don't even understand it.

But thats cool. Keep on doin' yo thang!

I used to get laughed at for a past product that i used to promote. The topic of the product was unique, but it got (and still is) earning money for me. But with my current website... no laughs, just wonder.

As long as its making you money, let them laugh as much as they want! at the end of the day you are in it to make money not to please people!

I figure if your goal is to make money and the niche helps you do it, then more power to you!

I have heaps of client websites that I promote that range from standard type niches to the truly bizarre - BUT having checked out these weird niches it was easy to see why they are worth targeting.

Elitist IMers turning their noses up = less competition, less competition = faster/easier rankings, end result = more money for the dude with the weird niche

My niche is in content locking. I've had people say its odd compared to some niches, but when you make thousands of dollars its kind of hard to say too much.
