It's pretty easy to grab the YouTube Embed code from YouTube pages and paste it into your web page or blog to show a video.
And you can click the little Customize icon to select a size, colors, turn off related videos for the player you embed...
But, you can also do some other things that YouTube doesn't have but you have to hack the embed code.
I got tired of that so I built a little web tool that let's you simply paste in the URL of any video that allows sharing and:
- Set it to show in High Quality (HQ)
- Show the video in HD (if possible)
- Turn OFF the totally annoying Search Bar
- Ditch the visitor stealing Related Videos & Enhanced Genie Menu
- Customize the Colors
- Add a border
- More features to come...like custom video skins.
Check it out at:
YouTube Embed Code Customizer - High Quality-Search Box and related videos options
It's not totally perfect...still a work in progress but it's copy / paste easy to add High Quality settings to YouTube videos (you normally have to add a special string of text in two places to get this to work).
Hope it helps you show better YouTube video quality without some of the viewer stealing distractions!
