What is the purpose of JavaScript Affiliate Banners?
I just subscribed to a new product that I really like and I want to start promoting it on a couple of my sites.
I went to the affiliate banners section of their website and all of the banners are "copy and paste" javascript lines of code.
What is the purpose of using javascript? I guess I'm too "old school" and prefer the regular html links. The main problem I see with the way the javascript link is set up is that I can't send it through my own tracking system first. Plus, don't some people surf with javascript off?
I will probably just copy and upload the image to my website and set up my own html link which I can track.
I am just asking the question in case the javascript offers a benefit I don't know about.
