Am I on the Right Track?

I'm still trying to figure out the small details, but do I have the right idea?:

Find a niche
Find a product in niche
Find keywords for the product that have a relatively high search volume, but low competition
Make a blog
Produce quality blog posts dense with my keywords
Continue to post quality posts
Set up backlinks off-page
Rinse and repeat
?????
Profit?

I don't personally do that, but, a lot of people do and
logically it should work. There's a zillion ways to make
money online and you've just described a very viable
    one.

Yes, you are on the right track with this. All you need to do is execute and get some experience.

I would however add that you should also be looking at building a list at some point, especially if your chosen niches are info product based.

Yes thats a great start but as the previous guy said use an autoresonder to build a list so use a squeeze page with an optin and then take them to sales page ,you must give them something for free, you can find great giveaways at plr sites or giveaway events just google both.

I was planning on promoting Amazon products. I believe this is one of the lower paying ones, but on on a large scale of free or cheap blogs/outsourcing, does anyone make any real money on it?

Is Clickbank still a premier choice? I see a lot of threads relating to its death through blocking links, etc.

Internet marketing comes down to two basic things in my opinion. Traffic and conversions.

First you need to decide how you are going to get your traffic, which you have. So keep building high quality backlinks to your site which will drive it onto the first page of Google. Then when you get targeted traffic, you will find that the conversions take care of themselves.
The thing I'm worried about most is that I have an idea of how it should work, but really have no idea how to do it well. I honestly have no idea how to find really good keywords, aside from comparing variations with each other and picking the one that has "low" competition.

I'm curious.. I know I want a domain/hosting server sometime, but are free blogs a good way to start off? I'm using wordpress right now.

Yes you are on the right track.

try not to get over loaded with too much at first.

Start and take action daily. Write unique valuable content for your prospects.

Have an email capture to build a list. Send valuable info and free reports to your list in whatever niche and you can monetize your list as time goes on but build a good rep for sustainable business.

Keep writing you'll be getting search engine traffic as long as you're constantly updating.

Be sure to choose an evergreen niche i.e a niche that doesn't fade out with season. For instance weight loss, weight training, diet plans, debt, personal finance, make money, dating, gaming, etc

    Goodluck

      Thanks.

How do I know if my niche is too broad or too narrow? Is there a consensus on what stats make a good niche keyword? I'm not looking to make billions, overnight. I just want to make sure I'm not dedicating myself to a dead niche.

Buddy, you can use the google keyword suggestion tool to check out the total number of searches done globally & locally for that keyword

That will help you in deciding if it is a right niche to opt for...

I would advise against using a free blog as you need to own it and the rights to the content you put on it. You can use the Google Keyword Tool (if you need to) for keyword research once you know your niche and to work out competition. Then get hosting and use wordpress.

As you learn and your knowledge evolves, your abilities will evolve, so as others have said, just get started!! As for a niche, pm me if you want. I'll give you my opinion on your niche.

Here's my niches: hawaii travel, toys, and fibromyalgia - and now plr. I entered all of these because of interest and knowledge, not because of keywords or competition.

Personally I'd switch 1 and 2 around. If you can find a product that people are currently buying and buying a lot of, then the focus should just be on building traffic who may be interested in the product in question, then it's just a simple process of driving that traffic onto the offer.

I'll have to do that when I get some more posts.

I'm basing my entire research off niches I personally know, or keyword searching. I honestly can't decide on any products on ClickBank, because I honestly don't see myself buying any of the products, which is the biggest hurdle for me.

        Finding the right keywords:

I've been doing some research (by collecting tons of exact match keywords through google's tool and checking things like search volume, competition, etc.

Can someone tell me if I have picked a decent one?

        Keyword is 4 words
Along the lines of, "Does X product work?"
Traffic Travis says competition is "Relatively Easy."
The top sites average between 0 and a few hundred backlinks.
It gets 1k local searches and 1.3k global searches a month

Is there a general checklist of what makes a good keyword? I'm planning on doing a bunch of micro-review sites through Amazon. Or should it be a multiple article niche site?

Thanks for all the help, guys. Definitely helps with some direction.

Sounds good to me. Just make sure to accumulate alot of leads via your autoresponder, get a website, and email to your subscribers every 3 to 4 days. You should make easy sales if you sell a cheap info product and keep providing your list with excellent content.
