resell rights ebook on torrent website

hello everyone, i have a question, if this is the wrong section im sorry please tell me and i will ask elsewhere.

i was looking at buying a package of ebooks that had resell rights. I searched around a bit to look for a better deal and i found a site that had em for free. It was a torrent website though. I dont know much about torrent websites, ive heard they are illegal and iv heard that they are not illegal. My questions is..seeing as these ebooks have resell rights it is okay for them to post them up there right?? maybe not i have no clue..also is it okay for me to download these and then resell them like i intended to.
Or would i be better off spending the money and obtaining them through another seller.
Im quite confused and dont want to get in any trouble.

    From my experience, torrent sites offer content that is illegal to download for free such as movies and the ebooks are probably the same.

    Most resell rights include the right to sell them and the right to include them as a bonus but not to give them away. If you're not sure contact the author of the book if possible and ask.

    If you were selling a product you created and worked hard to create a dam good product and offered resell rights to it would you be happy that your customers turned to these torrent sites and sold your information without first purchasing it from you?

    These torrent sites are illegal so I sincerely hope you don't give in to temptation and decide to download and resell these products.

        Thanks for the input, i have decided i would rather not do it. I dont think i ever would of anyways. I would rather support the guy who wrote it like mr. hill said. Also i can avoid any problems whatsoever.
        I also have one other question if you dont mind answering it.

        Doesnt it seem unethical that i should go buy an ebook with resell rights for less than i will be selling it outright for. Like sites that have ebooks for 2 and 3 dollars...doesnt it seem mean to charge someone 19 dollars or whatever for the same thing?

        maybe you veterans can shed some light on it...i realise that i would offer bonuses with it...but even with the bonuses my costs come to about the same that the customer will be buying it for..but my costs are only time.

        ps.when selling an ebook..do i have any liability.LIke can i be sued if they do something in the ebook and it goes wrong. Or is that all of the authors part? I know they have disclaimers and everything but just wondering.

          I will note here that not all torrents are illegal. I play around with linux distributions or patches from video games that are downloaded via a torrent as opposed to their servers as they are faster and cost less money on everyone.

          If it's a copywritten product, then it is illegal to download from a torrent or a server or sent through email or photocopied and given to a friend, etc etc etc.

          If you happen to download something and upon opening it up realize that it says it shouldn't be given away for free, you should delete it as it wasn't meant to be downloaded free.
