WSO Sellers: Increase Your Conversions with this SIMPLE Tip

Simple Tip to Increase WSO Conversions

This is a very simple tip (almost too simple) that will increase conversions on your WSO sales pages.

Your eyes are trained to look for a headline at the top of the page. When you send a visitor to a WSO, instead of seeing your headline, they see the Warrior Forum header, which is filled with all sorts of distractions.

Here is what they will see...



The headline is way down at the bottom of the page! You want your headline to be the FIRST thing that a visitor sees, not the third or fourth!

There is a very simple fix to this.

When you mail your list to let them know about your new WSO, most people either send them straight to the WSO URL or use some sort of cloaker that sends the visitor straight to the WSO URL.

Stop doing that!

Instead of the direct page URL of the WSO, use the URL of the first post, which is where your sales page begins!

That URL is found by clicking the "#1" in the top right corner of your post.



Once you do that, copy the URL that appears in your browser's URL bar. THAT is where you want to send traffic to! It's just a simple anchor link on the page that tells your browser how far to automatically scroll down when the page loads.

See the difference...



Now, your headline is where it is supposed to be... at eye level! It is the first thing the visitor will see! No more distractions!

See, I told you it was a simple tip! If you agree, post a reply that says, "Man, why didn't I think of that!"

      I don't usually do WSOs... BUT, as a vendor couldn't you set it up so it does that for affiliates?

      I don't know about W+, but I know JV Zoo and DigiResults both allow you to input your salespage - why not just make it so that salespage is the permalink url...

      Just my two cents, maybe someone that does do WSOs test it the next time they post one?

      Personally I don't think very much.

      I think the WSO forum is VERY different to selling elsewhere. I am confident someone who goes to the bother of clicking on a link to a WSO will at least scroll down to look at the WSO before leaving the page.

      Your headline still starts above the fold regardless... which is the main thing.

          Correct... and the smallest thing you implement can also harm your conversion rate. I didn't see any split test results so no one can say for sure this increases your conversion rate.

          That's what I'm saying.

          An important lesson in marketing: NEVER just assume.

        I wouldn't be surprised at all.

        Let me toss in one thing. A lot of people work on laptops and screen real estate is even more critical. Add to that the different ways people use headlines (some extensive and tall, some not), and it's entirely possible that this little idea could make a difference...

        because if configured properly, the viewer would then receive the full impact of the headline -- and then be drawn into the rest of the copy.

        If we truly believe the psychology of headlines and copy that we so often spout to newcomers, then how could it not be beneficial?

        I agree with Mike, a split-test is in order.

          I think a split test would be nice, but i think we just need to use our common sense on this one. I doubt something like this would kill conversions, i mean there is definitely a possibility, but i think that it is small. Split testing this could prove to be tricky because there are just too many variables that could influence WSO sales that it would be difficult to pinpoint it to one change. It could be:
          • The time the WSO was posted/bump
          • Headline changes
          • The day of the week the WSO was posted/bumped
          • Any price changes
          • Increase or decrease of affiliates promoting the offer
          • WSO title changes
          • Copywriting of the WSO post
          • Social proof

          The suggestion seem logical and conforms to tested advertising principles, so i dont know about you guys but im giving it a shot next week.

    Now that tip right there is worth alot of money. Thanks man. I do not do WSO's but I do other things like that and you just made my life alot easier.

    I was thinking the same thing. Selling something and when they get to the page they send a bunch of mombo jumbo. This way I can direct them to the actual content. I bet my conversions go up quick.

    People do look top left then scan down to middle and bottom right. It has been proven.

      Mike I think it'll help overall conversions a crap ton - especially when the more biz-oppish guys who push CB offers start hitting WSOs. That will make a huge difference.

      Honestly, I think there are a lot of traffic "holes" in the WSO thread that keep a lot of non-WFers from mailing WSOs. It's easy to push for one offer only to have your traffic trail off to someone else's WSO.

      I know a lot of guys don't hit WSOs for that reason.

    And just to add a bit more to this...

    There are a few different ways to link a thread here on the forum.

    1) There is the usual really long URL that contains the forum name, the title, etc... (like this: http://www.warriorforum.com/main-internet-marketing-discussion-forum/530816-warrior-special-offer-sellers-increase-your-conversions-simple-tip-2.html)

    2) Or there is a super-short way that requires you to know the threadid (that 6 digit number you see in the above long URL). It would look like this: http://www.warriorforum.com/showthread.php?t=530816

    Using the shorter option, all you need to do to use the trick EBR mention is add "#1" to the end of the URL. So, it would look like this: http://www.warriorforum.com/showthread.php?t=530816#1

    (Note, you can also add the '#1' to the end of the really long URL and it will work, too.)

      Vendors at JVZoo can use the anchored link as their sales page URL. We are letting them all know this today and tomorrow. Plus, we are going to make any WSO URL default with the #1 tail on it, so it will happen automatically. Mike said he was doing the same.

      I'm not sure what you mean by the question, but I will take a stab at it. When you provide a link to the anchored location, everybody that clicks on the link will have the page load with the anchor location at the top, like in my example pics.

      1. The header is full of "leaks"
      2. Every extra step can hurt conversions
      3. You want your headline in the hot zone of a heat map, not the cold zone

    I tested this on a recent mail-out and saw a slight improvement in conversions by doing this. When I say slight I mean slight. Out of 30 sales this version got one more sale than just sending them to the regular page.

    As someone else said above... even if it only gets you one more sale then it's worth doing, right?!
