Aloha,

After reading warriors forum posts for the last month or so i decided to make my first post. Im a newbie to this crazy world of i.m but its somthing that has really sparked my intrest although can be quiet confusing and discouraging learning the ropes and trying to get something going, The reason i need some advice is that recently about a month ago my job notified me they are downsizing and im being layed off at the end of march..job prospects where i live are not so great, i have a family to support ect ect... so im diving in full speed ahead. i joined devon brown web copy cat system and am now in the proccess of trying to build an email list to market to because i hear it can be a fast way of making some $$$. I have 600 dollars and am considering droping it ALL on ad solos in safeswap to build a huge list to market 2. I was wondering if this is a wise decision? if you have a huge list how fast can one earn good money? another fear i have is not being able to keep the list happy im scared theyll end up unsubscribing because of the lack of know how. ive read many things like...write 3x a day, be funny and entertaing, provide value ect.. i am a horrible writer....are there email software writers like autoblogger type deals? anyhow is email list building a viable way to replace your income? Quickly? can someone share some of their experiences and realities of earning this way?/time frame they did it in? how is it as opposed to other methods? much mahalo warriors i appreciate any advice you can throw my way. ----HTZ

No, no no. DEFINITELY DO NOT write your list 3 times a day. This is the quickest way to lose your list. 3 times a week sounds a little bit better to me.

"If you have a huge list how fast can one earn good money?"
It depends on how you treat it. These are customers, every single one of them. If you just pitch them paid products, it won't work. You have to provide value to them and gain their trust before you expect them to buy something because you told them to.

If you don't have a list yet, and you're not sure where to start. Check out my signature, it's a Free WSO that walks you through the steps of setting up and building a list. Even the biggest beginner can do this.

Anymore questions, feel free to ask.

Yeah man definitely don't email 3 times per day. BEFORE you start spending money on solo ads you need to perfect your sales funnel. This way once you start getting subscribers, you don't have to write a ton of content so that they aren't just sitting there not hearing from you. I would try to setup at least 2 weeks worth of emails in your autoresponder before you get started. Then buy a $25 solo ad for about 100 clicks. Then evaluate. What is your opt in rate, what is your conversion rate? Make adjustments and then buy another ad. This way you are maximizing your $600. Just because you get a ton of subscribers doesn't mean you are going to make money, you have to have a PLAN on what you are providing those subscribers, and also what you are trying to get it return.

People think that Internet marketing is an easy
            way to make money.

It's just as hard to make money online as it is
offline. If you are not a good writer and can't
learn how to be a good writer you're in the
            wrong business.

Internet marketing is MARKETING. Why do some
people think they can do Internet marketing without
            being a good marketer?

Your only other option is to be the money-person.

That means you need to hire people who know
            how to market.

There is NO software or any type of program that
can do your marketing for you. At least not effectively.

            just my 2c

The main thing is, don't fall into the trap of thinking anything
                is automatic online.

Just because you build a list doesn't mean you will make money
from it. EVEN if you thrill and delight them with your emails. EVEN
if you present yourself as the greatest, kindest, most compassionate,
most honest, whatever in the world.

You have to be good at marketing. It's about timing; understanding
your market (what your market wants and needs); how to present
                your offers and so forth.

It's not about YOU. It's that old adage that people are tuned to
radio station WIFM. What's In It For Me.

For example, if I read a post here on Warrior with the
headline: I Made $24,000 in the Last Six Weeks, Here's How

Do I really care that that person made 24K? What good does
that 24K do me? But, when I read that headline I'm for sure
going to read the post to see WIFM. Can I use this information
                to get 24K for me?

                that's the general idea anyway.

I think you should save your $600. Not knowing what you are doing, there is going to be very little that you can do that will make you a lot of money as fast as you seem to want it.

If you wanted to try an ad swap, why not start with less money, and see how it does?

You could also start offering services via elance or something, and build yourself up some clientele by march. That would be a much better way to replace your income, in my opinion.

I'm not saying don't try to build a list. I am saying that you are not going to build a list with no knowledge whatsoever that will pay your bills by march. You have to give it some time.

      Bang On!

Also when you are in such a desperate state and are focused on "getting money now" instead of "adding great value" it will be difficult to actually make money from your list.

It is not the size of your list, but the relationship with your list that matters most.

You can start building your list with solo ads but you must first make sure that your squeeze page and front end offer converts. Ideally, the prospect opts in to get a free gift, then is presented with a low cost $7 offer that complements the free gift. If you get a high enough conversion rate, this should cover the cost of buying the solo ads. But as someone else mentioned, you need to test first with 100 clicks. Start small, then if you break even or do better, then reinvest the profits back into buying more solo ads for the next round. If you keep doing this consistently you can build up a reasonable sized list quite quickly.

thank you so much for that advice thats really a good heads up and ill keep that in mind but its too bad i already purchased 200 clicks... if i knew this i would have done the 100 but wont see the results till fed 6-7... my niche is making money with social media...i just checked clickbank and those types of offers sell really low and arent that hot...guess i shouldve checked that b4 as well... im part of devon browns webcopycat system he gives like 9 niches for your websites guess ill have a lot more testing to do.. Hi howit - is that supposed to be howzit?

Yes, that desperate feeling does suck. a lot. There have got to be other things that you can do to get some money now and take your time learning internet marketing.

And as someone else said, it would really help if you broke your paragraphs up into sentences. they are hard to read otherwise.

Just an idea but just because you're wanting to market online doesn't mean you have to market to the make money crowd. Start with something you are passionate about then you'll have no problem with the writing. Just be yourself and go for it... I'd save your money and instead buy a domain name from Name Cheap and the "baby plan" from Host gator. Start a blog and write about your passion.

Get an autoresponder at Imnica Mail ($3 per month) and build your list with quality leads, not the one's from safeswaps...

The best way to break into the internet scene is elance and vworker, it gives you a chance to get paid per project and allows you access to people who are successfully marketing online. This will help form business relationships with people that may be able to help you along your way to successful internet marketing of your own. Best of luck to you on your future ventures in online marketing.

Good advice; your customers must firstly believe that you are trying to deliver value to them you before they will buy from you.
Listwire is a free autoresponder that I have heard good things about - in fact I think there is a thread about it on the forum somewhere; just do a search.

First of all there is no get rich money quick scheme in Internet marketing. I know you want to make cash instantly to support your family, but it might take days or months before you reach your target income via Internet marketing. This is not to discourage you but I am just laying down the facts.

There are things you can do, though, and you don't need to use your $600. You start by building your email list. Here are the specific points of concern you raise and my suggestions in response to them:

    - If you have a huge list how fast can one earn good money?
There really is no specific timeframe to earn good money. With the right strategy and by taking action you could be earning enough to replace your income by the end of March although I would suggest that on average it would take you much longer. Set your goal and plan how you will achieve your target. E.g., if you need to earn $5000 p/m by April then work out a product you intend to sell (e.g. a $1000 training program where you earn $500 as an affiliate) and how many you will need to sell to make that kind of money. (5000/500 = 10) you would need to sell 10 a month (achievable).

So to earn good money, plan for how much you want, find a product that meets the needs of the market and meets the needs of your income and refer people to that product.

    - another fear i have is not being able to keep the list happy im scared theyll end up unsubscribing because of the lack of know how.
This is a common fear but it is one you need to overcome if you want to be successful. I still feel like there is much that I don't know but there is still plenty I have learned that I can teach to other people. However, remember you can leverage other people's knowledge. Find the expert's in your niche and interview them. Leverage their knowledge.

-read many things like...write 3x a day, be funny and entertaing, provide value ect.. i am a horrible writer....are there email software writers like autoblogger type deals?

If you are not good at writing you are better using your $600 to outsource. There are posts on here that suggest good places to get articles written and I am happy to suggest some to you as well. You can get them from as cheap as $0.60 for 100 words but I don't know how good they are. Expect to pay about $5-10 for a well written/researched 500-1000 word article.

Once you have a list, you can consistently send your email list free and informative articles and e-books so that people will develop a positive attitude to your business. When you have established a strong relationship, it would be easy for people to follow your links and buy your products or the products you recommend = profits.

    - Is email list building a viable way to replace your income? Quickly?
It can be. But you need to plan, take action, and network with people who can help you. It is not easy and as I stated at the beginning there is NO GET RICH QUICK SCHEME in internet marketing. Building a list is not really any more easy that other internet business strategies in my opinion but it does have large potential.

Lastly, don't email your clients THREE TIMES A DAY. If you do this, it will give them the impression that you are just emailing them to increase your profits. If you do this, there is a high tendency that your clients will get turned off from the business strategy you are using and stop reading your emails. You can send them an email once a week or twice a week just to be consistent and yes, the content must provide value and it should ignite the curiosity of the reader so it will motivate them to take action.

    I hope I helped.

    Good luck,
    Nick

    Here's my two cents:

Don't put all your eggs in one basket, especially in a foreign basket.

You should start your email marketing now to build your list but only to supplement your income.

From now until your termination date - you should be looking for another job. I recommend using Indeed.com.

Get a full time job until you can cut to part time with your IM income.

Play it smart. The job market is not that bad - part of what I do for a living is provide social services and there's a ton out there. If your occupation has no availability, downgrade to an entry level job until you can move on up. Finding a job is hard work but it is the safer route.

You have a family to take care of so it would not be wise to have IM as your lifeline when you haven't gotten your feet wet. IM is tough man... and it takes money to make money.

Many businesses make use of email marketing. There are a number of benefits to this form of marketing. It can be extremely cost effective as unlike sending a letter, sending an email doesn't cost anything. Also, Give your subscriber a good reason to open up your email and you will be good to go. This isn't rocket science, its simple marketing that can boost your sales and profits in a hurry.

The fact that you're already interested in email marketing before really diving into IM is a very good thing for you. The key with email marketing (in my opinion), is to treat every list you create exactly the way you would like to be treated.

Personally, if I'm on a list that offers nothing but sales offer after sales offer, day after day, then I unsubscribe.

Giving your subscribers a lot of fantastic content and actually writing them in a personal manner will really go a long way in making money. I know that I've had quite a bit of success in my business simply because I write content-rich emails and actually respond when I get emailed.

It's a fantastic business model and if you only get one thing from my post, it would be to treat others on your list just like you'd want to be treated.

Hope that helps, best of luck!

You said that you bought Web Copy Cat System. If I am not mistaken, you are spending $67 per month on Devon's system. If that's true, then that is your biggest anf possibly only IM asset. It would be in your best interest to decide which program you are going to promote and use your $600 to do SEO with backlinks on that program. Look around Warrior Forum and you will find the strategies to rank your chosen product. Put all your effort on just the one product. Don't try to do a little with each one, focus completely on one product until you start making money. Hope this helps.
